This seems like a good review of what Ohio has done so far. Guess time will tell.

Do you agree that if we didn’t shut things down, we would many times more COVID-19 cases?

I think DeWine has done the right things...to now. And I like him and voted for him. But now what? Are we just gonna let the government control our entire life...........uhhhhh......kinda like those "Evil Democrats" want to do, snark ass?

Rather than trying to be a smart aleck, why don't you address the fact that these models they are relying on are F-ed up? You can't argue that the numbers are waaaaaaaaaaaaay off.

We may have but I don’t think it would be nearly as bad as people were saying, not enough to shut down the country. There are a lot of places that haven’t don’t much and they are not getting crushed. I think being careful, taking preventative measures and staying clean would have been a good idea. Keep your distance at work and if you are not feeling well just stay home. Also if you are susceptible to it stay home. Older people, people with compromised immune systems and stuff like that. I am willing to bet that if we ever are faced with something like this again, the response will be much different. I am not criticizing any one or blaming anyone, I just do not agree with how we have just shut everything down and I also believe the media has played a part in making the crisis seem worse. I can’t even watch the news because everything is nothing but doom and gloom.

I read something interesting about New Zealand. They have the distinct advantage of being an island, so they can control visiting a lot easier.
They went on a very early lockdown strategy of social distancing and quarantining of cases identified, closing schools and businesses, etc.

They have 40% of Ohio's population. But they have tested the same number of people (I think) so far, about 55,000.
They try and track all the contact of each infected person, check those, quarantine, etc.

So far they have one death attributed to the virus.

I'm not sure of any of this. I think all the economies are going to suffer. But early strategies of prevention measures may reduce the death rate.
Also willing to accept that really good measurements of the total impact will be very hard to come by.

We need the Governors to start communicating the game plan for opening things back up. Who, what, when and where.

The short term medical crisis has been avoided. People are still going to get this but we will have the beds and medical equipment to handle.

in Ohio, May 4th should be the date. Stagger it through May to be safe and cautious. Open the whole damn things back up in June.

The media/news gets paid when people watch/listen. They want you to watch. They create and sensationalize damn near everything. This will never change.

Allegedly Dewine says he is going to talk about his plan this coming week.
