If you condemn what happened J6 and not what's happening in LA, I think you're part of the problem.

If you condemn what's happening in LA and not what happened on J6, I think you're part of the problem.

Violent protests where law enforcement is attacked is not okay.

And gang activity is an issue. Particularly 18th Street and MS13. Those who are members of those gangs, and here illegally, and who are involved in violent crimes should not be here.

But what's also true is that those who are not members of those gangs, and who are not committing crimes, and who are in some cases seeking asylum, shouldn't be targeted in the same way.

People can have more than one thought in their heads. Sometimes it's good to have opposing sides that balance each other out. What isn't good is to only support ideals and procedures when they suit you and to only condemn them when they don't.

Looks like Kamala is bashing Trump for bringing in the National Guard for the “mostly peaceful protests”. Wonder if LA will end up like some of the cities last year where “peaceful protests” took place?

Here’s my thing with Cali. There’s little chance of any of us knowing what was going on there before the national guard was brought in. The mainstream media I’m sure was depicting it as just normal protests with nothing really happening. The right wing media and trump sends in the national guard—-was it needed or was it a political move? I guess it’s all just another indictment of the state of our government and our media. Unless you’re at ground zero so to speak, ya don’t know what was going on.

So a guy on a bike waving a Mexican flag means national guard? That’s kind of my point. Do I think it’s right someone is waving a Mexican flag as a protest in our country? No, but that doesn’t give me any evidence to call in the national guard. Attacking federal officers, police officers? Of course, but I’d have to actually see evidence of it occurring. My whole point in all of this is I don’t trust our media nor our government when it comes to things like this.

See all the smoke in the background? There’s a lot of stuff on fire. Google LA ICE protests and there are a number of images showing fires and damage.

There are clear differences between today in LA and J6. To the extent that law enforcement is being assaulted they are certainly the same.

But J6 the president of our country sent a mob to the Capitol to stop the peaceful transfer of power. And then he pardoned the criminals 4 years later.

In LA, it seems Miller sent ICE to Home Depot because he wasn't getting his numbers. Trump was at a wrestling match.
It seemed to have calmed down and been under control after the first day, by LA cops handing the situation of protestors who were there to protest the raid.
Then the National Guard came, and now it's protesting their presence.
And now they're talking about sending in Marines? Crazy.

There's a big question as to who caused the escalation in LA. The Guards presence or the protestors.
There's no question about who caused J6. Hell, they won't even put up the plaque Congress voted on to honor the officers at the Capitol.
Until the Republicans do that, all their big words and bluster are just that. Hegseth, Miller, Homan, Patel, Bondi,...they're all a bunch of children playing cowboys.
    Not good for our country.

Paul, do you consider the “protest” in LA to be peaceful?

As in any large protests, there are always some people who take it too far. They vandalize stuff, steal stuff, etc.
They should be caught, and prosecuted.

The question for LA is why send the guard in which seems to have provoked a situation under control? The governor didn't request them.
Look at this short video. No rioting going on. Cops standing around. People filming. This women from a news organization in Australia is hit with rubber bullet, which seems to come from a cop aiming at her. Why? What was she doing? Rioting? Come on.
