XUPHAN: If you don't see or recognize the significant corruption in "accepting" a $400M jet, I question your critical thinking skills. Please think about your expressed position, read the Constitution, look at Supreme Court decisions, absorb Presidential history, and then review your support of the Trumpster.

Try to imagine what conservatives would say if Obama or Biden charged people $2 million to have dinner with them?
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

Personally, I think it's gross what these politicians charge and what people are willing to pay for political access. Politicians are lining their coffers with money from wannabe politicians who just want to say they are pals with the elite. It's just an extension of a lunchroom popularity contest. It's sad on both sides and has been that way for a while.
Paul, see how easy it is to call out problems with the actual system versus only taking a partisan view? You should try it...very enlighteningdayton will lose by 40 and we will loot tonight.

Knot sure it’s that they want to be pals with politicians, it’s that they want whatever laws that benefit them to be pushed thru congress. It’s not really politicians that run the world, it’s the lobbyists and the people that pay for them. I’d venture to guess that about 5% of politicians give an f and want to do what’s right for the country. The rest of them are in it to line their pockets and continue to get reelected.

Don't think this was mentioned yet - Brian Kemp said he will not run for the Senate (for Georgia) in 2026; he would have been a strong candidate to flip that seat in most years. Either he's expecting a big Trumplash that year or he's holding out for the Presidency in 2028.

Kemp has no chance at President. Too normal.

There's definitely some internal lobbying that goes on, but there is also a HUGE status play as well. There's a prominent lawyer in Cincinnati (Stan Chesley) who routinely used to hold 100k-200k a plate dinner parties for various Dems (Clintons, Obamas..). I know some people who went who had no political motivation other than to say they were there, shake a hand and get a photo. It's ball washing at the most elite level.
