I suppose that's a point.
But it means killing hundreds of thousands who "get Covid" and don't survive, while we try to reach herd immunity.
Seems more humane to get everyone vaccinated like smallpox, to reduce near zero the incidence of death.

Yeah, but that's only old, and sick, and fat, and immunocompromised people! Screw them!

I got the Vax and the booster. I'm sure I'll get COVID eventually, but I figure that (1) immunity is not a cliff, so even if I get it I assume that my being vaccinated will help reduce the severity, and (2) I'd rather delay getting COVID as long as possible since the therapeutics and treatments seem to be improving pretty rapidly.

Very logical approach. Agree completely.

Who knows what the long-term impacts of receiving these vaccines could be, but pursuing protection in the here and now in the face of clear consequences seems to be the better path to take.

That Bengladesh mask study cited was much more damning to masks than stated. It found no difference between cloth masks and unmasked, and a non-significant medical mask benefit. It took some strange (and not really justified) stratification to find a significant difference. In this case it was for masking over 50 years old and… purple masks?

Separate but related topic, mask compliance at Cintas was about 10%. Can we end this facade?

Most of us knew this about the uselessness of masks a long time ago but this exercise had little to do with science.

This thing is coming to an end. Mass vax and mass immunity (antibodies) are already here and curtailing the epidemic significantly.

The governments agenda will be to continue this for as long as the majority of American people buy into the need to "mask up" and "get your booster". Once we get fed up with the BS, they will shift to try and protect their votes and next term.

Follow the money. If you think the pharma companies are the biggest benefactors, you would be correct. But the money tail here is very, very long and malicious.
