There you go again, being the one who declares what is “fact”.

I can watch people talk around a dining table and see “stuff” coming out of their mouths. I have to believe some of that being stopped by ANY kind of mask would be helpful, but I can’t declare that as fact. I think it would be hard to deny that that stuff is better contained, but I won’t “declare truth”.

The virus passes through a cloth mask. It could stop disgusting eaters. Maybe that’s why Deblasio is a mask fan.

We do not know whether a cloth mask might stop some of the virus. I know, the virus is minuscule, but it’s not impossible that the mask could stop some. Surely something has to hit the mask?

I’m not trying to be difficult, I’m just a staunch supporter of how little we know. This is why I feel just playing along on the safe side makes sense. There is no real pain in playing it that way.

Apparently, if vaccinated, you can magnetically stick forks on your forehead, and attract other metal objects. Also, get free 5G reception.

All good guys. Strange Brew, realize this University of Barcelona study from 2 yrs ago discredits Fauci/Wuhan related emails from 1 1/2 years ago. The narrative must stay in tact.

Sure. Thoughts on the psychological impacts of wearing masks on children verses the very small amount (maybe) of the virus stopped by a cloth mask.

Do you advocate mask mandates during flu season?

I would not wear a mask during regular flu season. I don’t even get a flu shot if I can help it, but it’s a Thanksgiving tradition at my wife’s cousin’s house, a doctor, so we all line up. No good way out, so I go along. Story of my life!

My wife gets a flu shot annually, and she gets the flu FAR more often than I do. She got the Shingles vaccine last week and felt like hell for a few days. I’ll pass on that and hope to get lucky. Shingles SUCKS!

Prior to Covid I was never a “wipe down the shopping cart guy”. Give your immune system a workout. When the kids went to pre-school, our immune systems went to boot camp! All good, despite a few rough patches.

I think we just went thru a strange period in time. To me, there were a lot of reasons to play along. We were able to get shots early as care givers for my 93 year old mom. Her mental health concerned me as much as our physical health.

It’s complicated, but I don’t see a sound reason to fight it too much.

I'm sure this will be a controversial opinion on this thread, but I think it's mostly just an opportunity to be a dick, for people who want to be a dick anyways. Unfortunately that's essentially the secret sauce to our entire socio-political environment right now.

On the Right, Trump's whole platform was basically just being a dick to everybody about everything. On the Left, the 'woke' movement's appeal is the same - you get to be a dick to everybody all the time while being completely convinced that you are 100% correct all of the time! It's the same allure - the sweet siren song of being a confrontational asshole, but the 'what' you are being an asshole about is different. The endorphin rush those people get from being a dick is the same though.

As we learn more, and as science suggests, the infection is more of a threat if the viral load is increased. Again, see Italy in it's early stages of the virus, India, South America, etc. Maybe a few on this board should contact the health professionals/administrators in those countries/areas and tell them that masks don't work at reducing viral load.

At no point, as far as I can remember, did anyone on this board advocate mask wearing outside (running, walking, mowing the lawn, if not in close proximity to other people...rallies, concerts, etc).

On a side note, what news sources do you all (no matter which political party) find reputable? Since we are submitting links without peer review, I'm wondering about the March 2019 discoveries of the coronavirus in sewage samples in Spain, Brazil, etc. Any thoughts?

Article tied to peer review and COVID. Interesting read. No malice intended.

WTF? Seriously how does this "doctor" get an audience with the Ohio General Assembly?

For years I've heard a lot of people talking about the dumbing down of America. Is this the proof? How can anyone seriously defend this thinking?

Although on the bright side I guess I'll never lose my car keys again!!!
