I've had a very interesting Civid experience this last month (I think.). Wife and 2 boys got Covid back in November. I shared a bed, bedroom and bathroom with my wife while she had it. While I quarantined back in November, the only suggestion of a symptom I had was that when I went jogging, I got winded really easily...much, much quicker than normal. Fast forward to the week before the Masters...I was using the bathroom and it became very obvious that my poop didn't smell right at all. Smelled like burnt chemically plastic. I shrugged it off as having eaten something that didn't agree with me. Except it happened the following day too. And later that evening, my wife was cooking food...and it had that same burnt chemical plastic smell. It was...to say the least...alarming and unpleasant. If anyone has ever microwaved a plastic bowl with food in it and a layer of plastic on top and you take it out of the microwave as soon as it's done cooking...you know that smell? Well, that's what feces, flatulance and cooking food all smelled like. Identical.

So..this last month, I haven't eaten much other than cold food. I've noticed that it seems to be all things above room temperature. Poop, farts, my dogs' farts, cooking food and if I'm behind a semi at a traffic light and they accelerate, the smell of hot diesel fuel has the exact same smell. All burnt chemically plastic. Suffice to say, I weighed myself Monday morning because my wife said I was looking sunk in and not healthy...was in the 170's for the first time since high school. I've read up on this and found it's quite common with people months after they contracted covid. It will eventually go away...but it's definitely unpleasant and unsettling. Strange, strange virus.

I was never tested back in November...people have told me I should go get an anti-body test. I have decided not to because if it's positive, it just confirms what I'm already 99.9% sure of...I had it. But if it's negative, then I'm losing my mind. Hell of a weight loss plan though. Freaky. I actually think it's starting to go away. I was able to eat a steak soft taco last night for Cinco de Mayo. It was quite a bit of progress from this last month.
