Yes, if Trump can trade dropping 14 bunker busters on Iran's nuclear facilities for a telegraphed, symbolic lobbing of 14 interceptable missiles at a basically unoccupied base, then I am definitely okay with him agreeing to that deal.

What he did is a clear violation of our Constitution, Article III, Section 3.
If Obama or Biden had done the same, they should have instantly been impeached.
You're OK because none of the "gunners" left behind didn't get hit. I ashamed of that sort of rational by any American.

I'm visualizing the scene at the air base in Qatar. The base commander (BC) gets a message from the Mid-East command (MEC):

MEC:"Abandon the base of all personnel, except "gunners."
BC: "I'm not abandoning my base or position. Is this a lawful order?"
MEC: "Yes, the President of the United States has issued the order."
BC: "Are we surrendering our base to the enemy?"
MEC: " No, we are just going to let them send some missiles at it."
BC: "What ?" "You can't be serious. No President would let another country attack one of our bases."
MEC: "This one did. So, abandon you base now."
BC: "$%^&&#^^$&$"

Once we bombed Iran's nuclear sites, how would you have preferred this to go down? Iran fires missiles at our bases (without advanced notification). Then what? Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Tehran?

That seems to be the obvious destination of paul's line of thinking. I guess we could have blustered, put more lives in danger at the base and then blown up some donkeys in rural Iran as OUR face-saving retaliation to avoid escalation.
