I’m sure someone could update the numbers to today’s amounts, but I’d guess the results would be similar. We don’t have a revenue problem; we have a spending problem and no one in Congress has any interest in doing what is necessary.

I’ll agree that some tax increases are necessary. Remove the cap for social security taxes and increase the retirement age for Millennials and Gen Z. If more money is needed for Medicare, how about a small increase to the capital gains rate, like .001% on combined capital gains in excess of $1MM (just throwing out a couple of numbers).

Don’t worry the new democratic darling Mamdani is trying test this theory in New York. He thinks billionaires shouldn’t exist and plans to tax “white” neighborhoods more in prosperity taxes!in terms of equity. Sounds perfect(ly racists).

Honestly, the CBO has no idea. Just like their estimates for the ACA. They were way, way off in the wrong direction on that one. :)

That is from a press conference from the President of the United States, letting the world know he had a discussion with the Iranians and said "it's fine" that they send missiles against an American air base.
No coverage by national media.
No outrage from Republican senators like Lindsey Graham.

Just try and imagine if a Democratic president had given Iran the OK to bomb an American military base.

ah yes the democratic playbook. I mentioned this in my post to hoopster. If you don't like something on the left, or are against something that the left is trying to institute, it's because you're homophobic or a racist. It couldn't possibly be because the policy is complete crap.

Yes, if Trump can trade dropping 14 bunker busters on Iran's nuclear facilities for a telegraphed, symbolic lobbing of 14 interceptable missiles at a basically unoccupied base, then I am definitely okay with him agreeing to that deal.

This is unironically what a far too significant portion of Democrats believe. I have nothing in common with these people, and there is no reason for me to vote for the same politicians they do.

I hate the Republicans, too. Just currently a bit less than I hate the people who say things like this.
