Man, WSJ has a live feed of the House for the Speaker vote, and my God I cannot think of anything more pointless than Congressional proceedings. What a waste of fucking time. Parliamentary procedure is really stupid in 2023. There's currently a long speech ongoing in support of Hakeem Jeffries's candidacy for Speaker. Productive.

One McCarthy vote in the Bs.
A Donalds vote. Still in the Bs.
An Emmer vote. Still in the Bs.
    Another McCarthy in the Cs.
A Zeldin and a Scalise in the Ds.

It's already over the in Ds.

These roll call votes are also a complete waste of time in 2023.

What’s the sticking point that’s keeping the Republicans from getting their collective heads out of their asses? What do those voting against Jordan, Scalise, and McCarthy want?

We've had a lot of 'proof crusaders' on this thread and I find it interesting how they apply their standards subjectively depending on who is involved. I'm no Trump defender but I will call out other people's BS.

Let's track how we got to this conversation: I made a statement about how elected dems (squad members specifically) have overtly sided with our enemies and supported Hamas (a narrative that's playing out at Universities across the country) and none of our resident board dems had anything to say about it. Instead we have one deflection regarding Trumps Hezbollah comments and another deflection to Trump's alleged comments from 3 years ago.

I'd like to do a reset and ask Bobbie, Paul and any other Dem what their thoughts are on our elected congress members refusing to condemn Hamas while at the same time lashing out against our largest ally in the region. It looks to me like there's a pretty big fracture among the Dems on this topic.
Assuming this is a thoughtful request, I'll note for the record that I support no people or statements that purport to give support to the atrocities committed by Hamas. They are indefensible.
I will also note that the situation is Israel is very complex. Having Israel violate agreements it made is not helpful in the settlement issue. And having a couple generations born and raised in Gaza, with restricted movements, ringed by barb wire and fences, where water and power can be cut off is bound to produce a lot of crazies that will (indefensibly) do stupid things.
I have been in these situations outside our country, and they are destabilizing and have long term consequences.
No justification for the murder of innocent women and children...no matter what.
Hopefully some day there will be peace for those people trapped on both sides of an equation looking for a solution. I feel for the innocents.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.
