No lou, I don’t squirm. I just think you are a little bitch who doesn’t take responsibility for your actions. Sounds familiar

Someone is going to have to explain to me the logic of bringing the Speaker vote to the floor if they do not have the votes. Seems like this is what set up the ticking time bomb of McCarthy's speakership.

I've heard a Scalise and a McCarthy so far. Haven't listened to the whole thing. Must be really close.

Just heard a Zeldin. Another McCarthy. Surely he's not going to make it. Still in the Ls.

Twitter indicating he's already lost even though we're in the Ms. Hakeem Jeffries may get more votes (though obviously not a majority).

The cheering during voting is incredibly obnoxious. Congress is a bit of a joke. Correction, it's a huge joke.

So not even remotely close. NYT has it:

    Jeffries 212
    Jordan 200
    Scalise 7
    McCarthy 6
    Zeldin 3
    Emmer 1
    Garcia 1
    Cole 1
    Massie 1

That's 20 votes not going his way among Republicans. He could afford to lose 4.

Not like the Speaker of the House needs the ability to accurately count votes.

Who goes next if Jordan can't close the gap? McCarthy? Zeldin?.....Trump?

The "moderate" wing of the Republicans really should float Trump to get a few Democrats to vote to bring McCarthy back.

I do wonder if it gets back to Scalise. I think more likely they just give the interim speaker more power and just never really appoint a new speaker.

It wasn't enough to bring a vote to the floor, Jordan's basically doxxing all the Republican holdouts and trying to get the right-wing media to go in attack mode until they vote for Jordan.

Pretty sure Scalise saw the extreme MAGA Republicans put the same conditions to him that they did for McCarthy and said "Fuck this white club"
