I had never heard many of the candidates speak extensively on anything.

I liked Haley the best. I thought she did really well and I found myself agreeing with many of the things she said or at least thinking she had the best answers.

I was surprised by how uncharismatic and stiff DeSantis was. Maybe that is just my ignorance and he is always like that. I didn't think he did particularly well.

My former high school pal Vivek was too dramatic and purposefully extreme and divisive in his rhetoric. He is clearly playing for a Trump cabinet position or possibly even VP. If he did have something in his message I agreed with it got lost in his flare for dramatics.

I didn't think much about anyone else. Pence was hit or miss. Christies was hit or miss. Wasn't a big fan of Scott and the other 2 barely spoke.

Haley is great. Shes articulate, pragmatic and has plenty of experience. She’s certainly my pick, but she has zero chance. Vivek is a total clown who spouts conspiracy theories because trump supporters love it, and he made a bunch of money in pharma. How anyone can like that is beyond me.

I'm sure glad they found time to ask Christie about UFOs near the end.

Tweet of the day, for a little chuckle:

    They released the Kraken…on bail.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

What happened to DeSantis? He seemed like a shoo-in to challenge and beat Trump to the nomination. Now he seems closer to folding his campaign than to get the nomination.

He has zero charisma, which is pretty amazing he has gotten as far as he has with that personality. I don’t need a Vivek who is trying to hard, but give me someone who at least has a pulse, and doesn’t bully his way thru like a trump or desantis seems to do

DeSantis is just boring and competent. Who would want a President like that?

He’s certainly competent at the state level which I appreciate. However, and maybe it’s just me but I’m tired of the bully shit of forcing things in. I’d like for government to begin working together again. It’s probably why people like Scott and Haley appeal to me. Good balance of fiscal conservative but willing to go more toward the middle on some social issues.

DeSantis seemed to not be competent at answering at least a couple questions last night. He just would straight up not answer some. I don't know if his struggle is differentiating himself from Trump without alienating Trumps base too much or what?
