The only thing worse than unrequited love is unrequited hate. I love that he said it and commend him for disliking us as much as we dislike him. But once you say it, don't apologize. You said it, now own it. Let the hand wringers tie themselves in knots over it. But don't back down.

I’m no fan of Huggs, but I also don’t think people should lose jobs over saying stupid things live on the air. He’s apologized. That’s good enough for me. It should have been good enough for Thom Brennaman, too. You said it. Own it. Apologize for it. Move on.
I’m confused how it even made it on the air. WLW uses a 7 second delay and will bleep callers and guests who say things they shouldn’t.
Sent from my iPad using TapatalkGolf is a relatively simple game, played by reasonably intelligent people, stupidly.

I KINDA agree. Kinda.
I think if someone did something 10 years ago that would have been “funny” but is now offensive, then I feel like maybe they shouldn’t get skewered.
Or if an otherwise “good” person just has that one moment they just screwed up, then I’m in for second chances.
But fat Bob is a scumbag. A disrespectful prick. He’s used all of his chances. He’s scum. No more chances for this turd. He was almost speaking as if he wasn’t being recorded….which says a lot.

On the other hand, this board would have already melted down if Mick Cronin said something like that under the influence.

I don’t think Xavier should say anything. They don’t have to. They’ve already won. Perhaps I’d feel differently if I had more confidence in their ability to publicly respond to things like this, but I don’t. In fact I think there’s a better chance of Xavier releasing a statement that is tone-deaf enough that it somehow ends up making them look bad and Bob look not so bad than I do in them saying something that actually helps.
“We don’t listen to the show, and while we never like to see or hear slanderous things said about the LGBTQ community, we also don’t have time to worry about what’s said by people who have no ties to us on a show we don’t listen to.” Something like that would be fine. But they don’t even need to say that. They don’t need to say or do anything.Last edited by xubrew; 05-08-2023 at 06:57 PM.
