Creighton losing today was MASSIVE for Xavier in terms of BE seeding.

Getting a top 3 seed is huge. You get to avoid playing UConn (the likely 5 seed) to open, and you get an opponent who had to play the night before.

Xavier would have likely had to win out to get a top 3 seed if Creighton did not lose today, because Creighton finishes against Georgetown then DePaul. So today was really the last test Creighton had.

If you give Seton Hall the edge due to being home against Nova, I see the seeds likely playing out like this:

    1. Marquette
    2. Providence
    3. Xavier
    4. Creighton
    5. UConn
    6. Seton Hall
    7. Nova
    8. St. Johns
    9. Butler
    10. DePaul
    11. Georgetown

This would place Marquette, Creighton, and UConn all on the opposite side of the bracket than X. If Seton Hall beats Nova the 3 seed might be better for us anyway as we would play the winner of Seton Hall and Georgetown. Avoiding a hot Nova would be ideal.

That would be a hell of a bracket for X. Getting the 2 or 3 seed is so massive, which is why Nova taking down Creighton was so big.

If Seton Hall has the same lineup as last night, they're not beating Nova.

Yeah, dont know their injury situation.

No matter who we face first (and if we beat Providence and get 2 seed and Nova wins, we wont face them first or if we lose and they lose we wont) it is a massive benefit to X to be on the other side of the bracket of Creighton, Marquette, and UConn.

Worst case scenario we have to go through Nova and Providence to get to finals. A very possible scenario is Seton Hall and then winner of Nova/Providence.

As much as I really really want X to hoist the BE Championship Banner, I’m going to be really happy just to see X in the semi finals. Beyond that everything else is just gravy. I’m betting right now that Nova wins it again. They are getting hot and healthy at the right time. I think that they are a solid choice to make a sweet 16 run if not even further. In fact, I could see 3-4 BE teams in the sweet 16. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Nova doesn't have good enough PG play imo to be a major threat in either the BE tourney or the NCAA tourney. They are at best the 5th scariest opponent X could face in the BE tourney. Would love a scenario (which is a very realistic one) where we play Hall in the Quarterfinals and then winner of Providence/Nova in the semifinals. I think Providence is better and we would face them but I'd rather face either over Creighton or Marquette for sure and also UConn.

I agree with nova. They are my pick to win the be tourney. Two most talented players in the big East, and dixon is a steady solid player.

With that said, out of the top 6 I wouldn’t be surprised by any of them winning it.

Gtown pulling an upset today would be nice

Looks like Providence is trying to skew their efficiency numbers today by killing Ewing's team.

Justin Moore who just destroyed Xavier is not good enough?

He’s a fine scorer but he is better suited to play the 2. Nova is missing a PG like they have had forever that made them good. He certainly helps but I just don’t see them being able to win 4 games in 4 days in the BE tourney as they really have very little help off the bench and at times they struggle to score. If they get hot they can win but too often they are too streaky from 3.
