With all the talk about rigged elections/stolen elections by Republicans and their media, when an actual example of voter fraud comes out, it seems to always be Republicans. Not just run of the mill voters, but election officials busting into voting machines, fake electors, or just out and out making votes up. Strange that.

The inflation landscape is getting absurd. Revolutions in Europe are certainly incoming. We feel it bad here with 8.3% inflation but over the same period the dollar is up 18% and should be heading higher assuming the Fed does not change course. The opposite for the Euro which is down 15.3% YoY. For all the mockery of calling inflation transitory, which is 100% fair, interest rate hikes moves have not moved the needle. The Fed is now of course hell bent on not being accused of underreacting and is talking a big game. We'll see if a market crash scares Powell dovish like it did last time. I would equate what they're doing now, killing growth to try to slow inflation, to killing people to solve hunger. Oh and we're on the doorstep of a rail strike.

I responded to your earlier same question with the response noted above. The rhetoric from most politicians was addressing additional funding or reallocating resources within a budget to address lowering crime statistics with other, proven measures. Sure there are firebrands who probably want the police disbanded for some stupid reason. But I don't see that as any party policy or offered as a solution by any leaders.

I've thought about moving to Europe for years. About a three or four months ago I came as close to doing it as I ever have. Was even discussing potential jobs and places to live. My issue was that while I'd like to live over there for a while, the key phrase is 'FOR A WHILE.' I have enough money to easily go a year without working. But the issue is that I love the job I have over here, and the chances of it still being there for me after leaving it for a year are pretty much zero. So...I decided against it.
I rarely say this about myself, but...GOOD DECISION!!!Last edited by xubrew; 09-14-2022 at 08:50 AM.
