Guess that was his "fiery" halftime speech.
Fiery a halftime speeches are for movies. They rarely happen in real life, especially in college or pro halftimes. There just isn’t enough time. Time is spent discussing adjustments, treating injuries, getting rehydrated, and getting some rest. The coaches are going to talk among themselves and the assistant coaches are going to talk with their assigned groups. They explain what they are seeing and what adjustments they might make in the 2nd half, or what they want to continue doing in the 2nd half. If there is pep talk speech, it’s not normally happening when your losing by a bunch, it happens when your ahead, when you don’t need to make a lot of adjustments. You don’t want the players to relax and give up that lead, so you do your best to keep them motivated. To keep them challenged. When your losing, you want to remind them that the game isn’t over and that there is plenty of time to come back and win. It’s the time to remain calm. You want to bolster their confidence and explain what it is that they need to do to come back. You explain how they will do it step by step. Break it down as simple as you can and give them small steps to take. You’ve got to make them understand what they need to do, and that they CAN do it. When losing, you’ve got to be analytical. You have to make it mentally possible before it becomes physically possible. When winning, you’ve got to motivate through emotion. When your ahead, you talk about giving maximum effort and continuing to do the things that got you there. You want to guard against overconfidence. But all of that happens maybe over the course of just a couple of minutes.

The other word that he wrote was….”swagger”.

His team down 17 points at halftime, Xavier coach Travis Steele walked into the locker room and posted a message on the grease board.
"Most overrated thing in sports is the halftime score,: he said he wrote. "Nobody remembers if you're winning at halftime. It's why you play 40 minutes."
Except we are very much going to remember being down 17 after the worst first half ever then going on a 29-2 run to win it. That was legendary.

I hope that game was the start of something special. What happens though when the team fails to start making 3 pointers again?

I keep forgetting to turn on the sarcasm font, or the one marked hyperbole.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

Tu Holloway would be proud of that dominance.

They should just decide as a team to make all 3 pointers from here on out. Mission accomplished.
