    Good stuff!

You've really focused on the seasonality aspect of this. Based on what you've read, do you believe there will be a 3rd wave this winter? My thoughts are that it will be the last major wave - though not nearly as pronounced as the last 2. Then the virus will become endemic as we will be in the herd immunity zone (knowing that the vast majority of cases were asymptomatic or unreported - per the CDC). Thoughts?

Wonder how quick we could have reached herd immunity if everyone had gotten the vaccine when available.

Recommend "Code Breaker" for an interesting read on the scientists who came up with the technologies for fighting all sorts of viruses.

Except, we all know, that break-thru cases are occurring on an increasingly more frequent basis (see video above). The virus is and will virus.

    Let me re-phrase your question:

Wonder how quick we could have reached herd immunity if Fauci and the CDC didn't play God, and we just allowed the virus to run through the younger generations who have very little risk?

    Can we revisit Australia briefly?

Somebody on this board essentially proclaimed that the people demonstrating in Australia were effectively doing it for no reason. He said the country was about to lift its travel restrictions in a few short weeks, and the country would magically be free and open at that time. In other words, the demonstrators were wasting their time, or they didn't know they were so close to regaining their rights and freedoms.

Well, the government of New South Wales (which includes Sydney), just published its "Rules for people who are not fully vaccinated".

You tell me - is this what freedom looks like? This is almost as bad as the Jews had in Nazi Germany: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/stay...lly-vaccinated

I wonder if Paul still prefers to live there?

I prefer vaccines getting us to herd immunity, and yes there will be breakthrough cases, as opposed to losing hundreds of thousands of lives.
Read the book I mentioned...there's even hope with new technologies to someday eradicate a particular virus and its mutants.

Edit: seems like you'd be OK in Australia if you got vaccinated, with necessary exemptions granted for medical reasons.

The most vaccinated state in the US, with 70% of the population fully vaccinated is Vermont.
Their death total from Covid per 100,000 people is 54.

Mississippi, with 46% of the population fully vaccinated, has a death total from Covid per 100,000 people of 333.

I'm guessing there is a connection. There may be positive cases of vaccinated people carrying the virus in Vermont, but I don't think they'll hit 6 times the death rate and catch Mississippi.

May be some co-morbidities involved in MS vs. VT….

Or perhaps there aren't as many covid-spreading illegals in lily-white liberal Vermont....

Curious, why did you choose to compare VT to MS. Why not NJ? Or NY? Do you have an agenda??
