Biden and many pundits continue to tell us that this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. This is simply not true. Let's look at Massachusetts, the only state that I'm aware of that reports break-thru case data - that is, people who have contracted Covid after being fully vaccinated. In the past week 37% of all cases, 26.6% of all hospitalizations and 29% of all Covid deaths were among those that are fully vaccinated. Those numbers have been drifting higher over the last several weeks:

In the United Kingdom, 67% of all deaths are among fully vaccinated people between Feb and August. The UK is well ahead of the US in terms of vaccination rates and dates. To date, 89% of the people over age 16 in the UK have received at least 1 jab, while 80% are fully vaccinated:

Having to change the definition of vaccine is a huge fail.
I guess it's a good thing for the medical field that people will continue to get sick.....

We have 53% of the population vaccinated, vs 0% a year ago.
CDC estimates 80% of the population has artifice or natural immunity, vs. <10% a year ago.
Yet cases and hospitalizations are substantially higher than last year.
Explanations anyone?"...treat 'em with respect, or get out of the Gym!"

Delta variant is more transmissible (though not more deadly).
If I were a cynic, I would say that Biden and team waited until new cases peaked (which they did Sepember 2 on the 7 day average) before they made their big announcement. Thus, they can be virtually assured cases will go down right away, and they can claim credit.

The Palmetto State topped the entire country in COVID-19 case rates last week and continues to do so, per local news outlet WBTW’s analysis of CDC data.
McMaster lifted South Carolina’s state of emergency in June, claiming at the time that “we’ve worked our way very well.”...he went up late, and I was already up there.
