This is not what Cleveland Clinic deduced from the study, it is someone's opinion based on a study that Cleveland Clinic performed.
So, its an opinion on a study which is basically a peer review (granted, sample of one).

Joking aside. You’re wrong on the effectiveness of any vaccine on a population void of other risk factors. Also, you can still get COVID after receiving the vaccine so it’s not 100% either. Paul and most people with a basic, non political understanding of the science are right. Finally, do you need a chicken pox vaccine if you’ve had it?

What you need in that case, if you're over 50, is the Shingles Vaccine, which prevents the dormant chickenpox virus from coming back as shingles.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

Speaking of the Shingles Vaccine, my wife got her shot about a week ago and felt absolutely horrible for a few days. Better than the Shingles, I’m sure, but pretty lousy.

So no. You don’t need a chicken pox vaccine.

Chicken pox vaccine and shingles vaccine are almost the same vaccine. Regardless, chicken pox and covid are very different viruses. Immunity after the disease wanes over time in both diseases, but instead of getting chicken pox again we get a reactivated form (shingles) and likely never catch the disease again. Natural immunity to chicken pox should be lifetime for the vast majority of people as the virus does not change rapidly over time. That is TBD in covid and I’m all likelihood will not be lifetime if we continue to see more variants.

If we were to take the cleveland clinic data in a vacuum it would appear that vaccinating people post covid may not have benefit. But this is not surprising since most people that had covid in their study had it within the 10-12 month timeframe we start to see natural immunity wane. If the study were to be expanded for years the results would probably be different. So the wording is important, and I think a good conclusion is that immunization post-covid may not have immediate benefit. But since supply is not an issue, investing in future immunity may not be a bad idea if we want eradication.

Agree. My comments are more refuting the Dr Paul is wrong narrative.

I could see COVID being more like the flu with annual variants that lead to annual vaccinations (optional) for at risk populations. Time will tell as it appears this is a lab altered, not natural strand.

I honestly have no clue what you are even referring to in your second paragraph and your definitive statements on something that is anything but at this time makes you look anything but objective. Never said the vaccine was 100%, and just because chicken pox is a virus doesn’t mean it acts the same way as covid, so again not even sure what you are getting at.

I don’t know what the narrative is with Dr Paul is wrong, but I would agree with the narrative that he is short sighted (see what I did there? (And there)) and as a politician likely also has his own agenda and narrative to adhere. Trusting him for medical advice on immunology is not out of left field. He did go to medical school (presumably) and is a smart guy. But again, looking at the long term immunity from natural disease it is in serious question, and he seems to take it for granted based on comments. He also has made reference to hospitalizations and deaths as if that’s the only bottom line. That’s a careless statement.

Time has already produced multiple variants of the Covid virus.

The vaccine barely helps if at all a previously infected individual under a certain age. Paul’s assertion is correct and one of your sources posted data that proves it. With or without goofy peer reviews. Peer reviews like masks and vaccines are politicized. Data is not. Fauci is the American Lysenko.
