Clots are common but the type of clots (cerebral venous sinus thrombosis) is not common. There is almost definitely a relationship with the vaccine and the clots. However, I have seen this condition in a patient with covid- a 24 year old female. Did I see a “less than one in a million” patient? Doubt it. Hopefully we get some clarity on how this happens because weighing vaccine risk versus disease risk is really becoming a tiresome discussion.

Hey Paul - zero deaths? Really? And only 6 blood clots observed??

"The Committee carried out an in-depth review of 62 cases of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and 24 cases of splanchnic vein thrombosis reported in the EU drug safety database (EudraVigilance) as of 22 March 2021, 18 of which were fatal.1"

And that's as of March 22 for AstraZeneca in the EU only: https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/as...lots-low-blood

Again, we are being lied to...

If the 2000+ vaccine deaths listed on the CDC VAERS system is wrong, after an apparent investigation, why haven't they changed those reports?

The policy of encouraging everyone to get a vaccine is complete malpractice. It sounds like many/most of the people having issues are those that already have antibodies. The CDC should already know this. Moreover, if you're trying to reach herd immunity as quickly as possible, why not administer the vaccines to those that have not had Covid first (or only)? Why not ask, or test for antibodies before administering the vaccine.

Did you see this last night?

It seems that in a small number of cases (18 of 25 million) of the Aztra Zenaca were attributable to blood clots forming from the vaccine.
Perhaps any vaccine holds the smallest of risks when millions of doses are given, and appropriate caution (like watching for anaphylactic shock) are necessary.

But the overall efficacy of the vaccines in helping us slow the virus, and prevent hospitalizations and deaths, seems prudent.

I haven't seen anything yet that calls into question the CDC reporting. Where was that noted?
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

My wife got her second shot last Wednesday. She’s felt kind of blah the next day with a bit of a headache, but was fine Friday morning.

Golf is a relatively simple game, played by reasonably intelligent people, stupidly.

Response to this has been somewhat disappointing from the government and continues throughout this pandemic. They should had been better prepared to answer questions like “how many people have developed CVST from covid?” like the patient you mentioned.

Did they truly think this would be isolated issue with the AZ vaccine considering J&J vaccine has same MOA? Extremely extremely rare for both, but come on. Obviously, this hasn’t help some of the people who run in my circles (or around the country) who don’t understand risk to ratio benefits as you described.

Getting my second shot tonight and wife’s on Friday. We intentionally did it that way because we don’t do well together when we both feel like crap lol.

I play basketball with a group of guys. Yesterday we managed to get 10 vaccinated guys together for a run. First time in over a year, it wasn't pretty.
