Damn. At the rate you guys are going New Jersey will open up first. Although after reading the order it looks like business and retail will be fully open, right? Bars, Restaurants, and Hair Salons will still be closed along with Gyms.

The branding of these policies is almost comical at this point. Two states can have mirror image policies but one is considered "open" and the other is considered "closed" because no one reads past the headline of the order.

The much-anticipated serological data that’s finally rolling in reveals that the number of actual Covid-19 cases could be 10 times more than the number of confirmed cases. While this suggests the fatality rate is lower than previously thought, it also means it's more contagious. As infectious disease experts will point out, even a seemingly low overall mortality rate can translate into a shockingly large death toll if the virus spreads through a major portion of the population. If this virus gets into the wrong population (i.e. nursing homes or long term care centers) it has proven to be devastating and deadly. Many of those facilities have had 50-60% of their residents killed if the virus infects someone inside the facility. This is the worst pandemic since 1918, and people should be cautious about underselling how deadly or dangerous this pathogen can be.

George HW Bush’s approval rating was 90% in 1991. He lost his re-election bid in 1992. A bad economy creates short term memory

Thank you for the info. You obviously know this well. Do you think we should stay locked down? Or do you think we over protect the people susceptible to possibly dying from this? Do you think the country can sustain the continued high unemployment without causing a bigger impact on mental health and loss of peoples future retirement? Also in nursing homes I would think the yearly death rate is much higher already than the general public, correct? Not to sound insensitive, but do we sacrifice everyone else for minuscule of the population? Even if 200,000 people in the US ended up dying, which is still horrible, that still would only account for .06% of the US population. And this thing is not going to just go away. So at some point you have to weigh what is best for 327 million people as a whole.

Nice to hear from our resident Doctor. I believe you have a practice that is potentially negatively impacted by the restrictions as well. I would be interested to hear your opinions on the 'why' as well as the 'how' for starting to reopen things.

Apparently the virus can be spread thru the a/c system. Settle down to a nice meal at a restaurant being showered by droplets.

Fear mongering. Overall death rate isn't even up. Lap up the socialist puke, dog.

Especially when the cause every death is being pressured by hospital administrations to be attributed to covid.

    It's not a pandemic; it's a scam.
