Median age as average for diagnosed cases? If so that is probably because most younger people with any symptoms just are not getting tested and wait it out until they feel better like they do most times they get sick. Anyone can get the virus obviously, but it is much more dangerous for people who are older or who have other health issues. Not that it couldn't and hasn't killed a younger person, but that it appears much more rare.

Yes median age is of those confirmed cases. Age range is infant to 98.
The hospitalization rate is 25% of those confirmed cases but that isnt shocking due to the serious lack of testing still. So those being tested are higher risk patients, older people, immuno-compromised people, and people who are really sick with the symptoms, etc."I’m willing to sacrifice everything for this team. Fauci and Birx saying 100k to 200k could die. Guess we are just at the beginning.

Regardless, the effects of this virus on the economy and the after effects of shutting the country down are going to be hundreds of times worse than the virus itself. Not saying we shouldn't have done something, but after this is over, smart people need to come together and figure out what the us is going to do when something like this happens again, because I'm sure it will, and we cant afford to shut the whole country down.

If only people had produced pandemic simulations and reports we could have drawn from...

Xville, do you mean the effects of the virus as a result of the shutdown, or the effects if left entirely unchecked?
