I couldn’t park in the Publix lot, had to chase someone down as they loaded the car to get a cart, then got the last banana (singular) in the store, there was no bread, the meat sections were bare. CRAZY!

The wife is working from home and I’m going to hunker down like it’s a different kind of hurricane situation. Thankfully, they still had plenty of beer and wine!
When I got to my Rec Center in Indy this am and found it closed, I decided to get some things at Kroger. Toilet paper, gone, plain white bread gone. Other than that, plenty of veggies, meat, fruit and dairy etc. Headed over to a nearby mall, stores nearly empty. The media is trying to turn this into The Great Depression II. Someone said 4 people in Cincy tested positive. Out of what half a million ? Get a grip people. Yes take precautions, especially if you're old or your health is compromised, but this is not the end of the world.

I think some may be downplaying the virus but also see people putting things in perspective. Big difference IMO. Like the vast majority of things, I tend to let people feel the way they want. However, doesn’t stop me from giving them my opinion lol.

On a personal note, completely understand why you may take certain precautions because of what you went through last year and having a young family. Hope you’re doing well.

You don't get it dude. Those that don't get it, which is most, will extend this to a 3 month event instead of a 3 week event. Get yourself educated on what is going on here.

It's not about the severity of the virus, it's about limiting exposure and reach. This can be done in 3-4 weeks, or can still be around in the summer. Our choice.

I have little faith in humanity. The more people you come in contact with, the greater chance you will get or give this virus to someone else. Social distancing isn't to ensure you don't die, it's to ensure this doesn't expand.

4 cases have been confirmed in Ohio; however, the estimate is that 100,000+ people are carrying it (and likely don't even know it). The more people expose themselves to more people, the longer this lasts, the more become infected, the longer we sit in our houses, and the more people die.

Do your part and limit your exposure to other people. By far the best article I've read on this is below. It's long and detailed, but shows the impact of not putting in these measures. To put it bluntly, if we don't follow this distancing advice, we're screwed, and the government will be forced to intervene with measures like we've seen in Italy.

Trump on lag in coronavirus testing: "No I don't take responsibility at all"

That line is gonna be on a lot of commercials as we approach November.

I was not amazed at the continued refusal to ever accept any responsibility.
I was struck by his lack of concern for his family and staff.
Last week he was in close contact with the Brazilian president and his press secretary, who has tested positive for the virus.
The president sloughed off questions about whether he would be tested...because his doctors said he had no symptoms.

But, you can be carrying the virus and be asymptomatic.
So, he could be carrying it and passing it along to his family and staff, and anyone he shakes hands with.
Why would he not be responsible and get tested?

If I was in close contact with, had dinner with, etc. someone who tested positive, I would get tested.
I understand saving our (unfortunately) limited testing abilities for people who do display the symptoms.
So, maybe they wouldn't test me. Maybe I'd have to self-quarantine.

But he's the damn president. Get tested. Maybe Melania will thank you.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

Perhaps Melania is hoping for the sweet release of death.

Before or after his “it’s no big deal” quotes. Yeah, probably both.

Thankfully the market closed before that presser...

The side by side comparison of Italy reported cases and ours is alarmingly close, just we are about 10 days behind. This is going to start to get scary and real very soon. I am no expert but I am trying to listen to them. Please stay at home the next few weeks as much as you can.

There are increased reports locally here (via cleveland ER personnel I trust) of people claiming travel to know countries or contact with positively tested individual in order to receive testing. Urgent cares and ERs are denying tests in some the most logical of scenarios to test because the ODH has actually denied testing and refused to run tests sent. I am not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but this is testing suppression for no logical reason.
