The U.S. didn't have a major hurricane from about 2005-2015. Is the lack of hurricanes during this time also caused by global warming?

This decade better get some more hurricanes, and fast, if it wants to even be close to previous decades, including the decade with the most recorded hurricanes- the 1880's.

Here's an excerpt from last time I responded to this exact post:

No one confidently says global warming is causing a significant increase to the number of hurricanes. What it is causing are storms that intensify in the Gulf due to increased air and water temps.

This storm is going to dump 50 inches of rain in Houston, the city has seen four 100-year flooding events since 2015 and 167 percent more heavy downpours than it did in the 1950s.

Has global warming started, stopped, gotten better, worse since this thread started in 2013? Just checking to see if anyone's actually monitoring it or just kibitzing about it.

Global cooling has arrived, as I predicted. It was 56 degrees today in Cincinnati. On September 1. I was going to burn more fossil fuels to warm things up, but that has only caused more cooling. What should we do?

Perhaps global cooling caused global warming which is causing cooling and then warming. Maybe the earth is like the office thermostat and we just can't get it quite right

Best to ignore troglodytes like MOR and 87. Like their hero, Pres. Trump, they say stuff to stir things up rather than being taken literally.

87 and MOR are both good dudes. Frankly, after years and years on these boards, I've come to believe everyone here is good, but we have some sharply different ideas about some stuff. This topic is among that stuff. Frankly, I was the one instigating and kibitzing because, well because, it's what I do sometimes.

Didn't we discuss in the past how unhealthy it is for you to continue to yell at your computer screen, "I hate you '87!!!!!!"?
