I think that Baylor has a fine team and that they deserve all the accolades. Guess what bitches? You get to come to the lovely confines of the Cintas Center next year. I expect they will get a warm reception.
I love the series and would be all up to renew it. Love to play Baylor every year. I love our fearless schedule. No problem with me letting them expose some of our flaws early on. Would like to know what those flaws are in November or December so we can work on them. Better than being shocked into action later in the season.
I have said it before. Myles is my favorite player. I can't wait to get him back. This team cannot compete at the highest level without Ole Man Myles. I have been waiting for his senior year as long as he has, for four years. I want the future to start right now. Can't wait to get him back.
We have talent but we are not a team. We have stats but stats aren't enough. We need to come together as a team.
Our inside game needs developing. Can Myles help that, I think so. I like when we when inside out in the past. Perhaps that wont be the option it was, but we need to do more on offense that pass the ball on the perimeter. People that thought that the departure of Jalen Reynolds was addition by subtraction had a serious math error. That young man would have raged on this team. We have too many men that go to the pros to early. They would be better off if they stayed right here. I digress.
I love this team. We will have more losses. Tough job coming up right now against Colorado. It would be a great win for us, or a great learning experience if we lose. I am upbeat about the Muskies. I thought we were overrated for sure. That pissed off some of my friends. I can see us as a top 10 team late in the year. I can see us winning the Big East. We just aren't there yet.
And we need one Myles Davis, my favorite Muskie.
We have two players nominated for the highest honor in college hoops, but in my opinion, our best player, my favorite player, the straw that stirs the drink, had yet to play once second.

This is all 100% true.
Our bigs will determine how far we go. If the bigs develop and prove they can finish and convert it takes away the option of other defenses pressuring our perimeter guys, who we all know are our chief scorers. Baylor adjusted that way in the second half and we were found wanting. That must improve and I believe it will."I Got CHAMPIONS in that Lockerroom!" -Stanley Burrell

Baylor might have one of the best defenses in the country. Look at all of their second half comebacks against some pretty good teams. All of them led by their stifling D.
To me, our lack of converting the bunnies in the first half....and missed FT's in the 2nd half allowed them to pull away. Add to that the 3-4 consecutive possession where they nailed huge 3 pointers.
Time to move on.
And yes, Myles is also my favorite player, We're in need of his leadership, calm composure and ability to hit big shots.

As long as the team is improving throughout the year then this lose doesn't bother me. Two years ago Xavier lost almost every other game in conference but they got better and were ready when March rolled around. Last regular season was great, but ultimately the goal is success in March.

The bigs needs to shoot better than 1-8 from the free throw. Poor free throw shooting is what started the second half downfall. I don't expect the bigs to ever make a high percentage of free throws this year, but they at least need to make in the 50-60 percent range.
I also look forward to the first caller to the Mack show who says, "You need to practice free throws more", or "When I was in school, we used to do XYZ to practice free throws."Last edited by XU 87; 12-05-2016 at 10:26 AM.

Ha.
I was watching a little of a Florida game the other day and Rick Barry's son (how many does he have? and how wide in age do they vary?) plays there and he shoots his FT's underhanded. It was pretty funny to see."I’m willing to sacrifice everything for this team. I’m going to dive for every loose ball, close out harder on every shot, block out for every rebound. I’m going to play harder than I’ve ever played. And I need you all to follow me." -MB '17
