Ha! Nuts is my moral leader on porn. That was on the "assault" definition, as in what is "porn". A Supreme Court comment, I think. I'm good with porn, as long as it doesn't shoot me. (And hopefully not Nuts, who seems to be at a slightly higher risk.)

My "wacky moral code" doesn't like guns that can take out a theater full of people and has no actual use in society, other than to sustain arguments over why it should be legal. Who's really wacky here?

Assault weapon? I can't give you a definition, but I can tell you when I see one.

    Does that help?

It is kinda cute though, I've never been called a fascist prude before! (At least to my face.) Still doesn't change anything, but it's cute.

Assault weapons are banned in the US and have been banned.

    I meant it as a joke I don't really think you're a fascist or a prude.

Not really, it seems like you just want to ban things out of ignorance and fear.

I have such faith in them because they are working. When is the last time a terrorist entered our country and pulled off an attack? I'll wait...

In the meantime, I'd like to direct you to the real threat, which is homegrown terror and its access to weapons. The Islamic State likes America’s ‘dumb’ gun laws, defector says - Washington Post

I find this approach of Trump and isolationists so baffling. Has literally no thought gone into it? Sometimes it seems so.

Let's get this straight. You are scared of terrorist attacks in this country from extremist Islamic terrorists. Your plan is to corral the muslim population, and prevent their migration into the U.S. Ignoring its effectiveness, do you actually believe this is plausible or legal? All the while, you have 3.3 million muslims, "savages" if you will, in America and they have access to guns. Don't you think stereotyping this entire religion as potential terrorists would incite more anti-U.S. sentiment?

These are desperate people who have been tortured by 5 years of Civil War and need a place to go. Bring them here, show them why America IS great, and truly integrate them. True integration is the most important part, we don't need U.S. versions of Molenbeek.

Quoting an article that quotes a known terrorist. Yeah we should listen to that guy. Criminals and terrorists are going to get guns, bombs etc whether they are "legal" or not.

Just last year...the San Bernardino shootings...the "wife"

I'm not stereotyping an entire religion, the problem is that it is hard to vet them and see potential terrorists when there is such a large number looking to get out...it really isn't that hard to understand.

You make it seem so easy...just bring them over here, show them why america is great and really integrate them....its not that simple.

Only if you define "assault" as fully automatic weapons, like machine guns.

Semi-automatic weapons with large clip capabilities were banned from 1994-2004. They are now legal.
They are the types of guns used in the larger mass shootings since then.

Right. That's the ironic thing with all of this.
