I hit Tony's on Montgomery near Fields-Ertel last night. I had never been there. My steak rivaled a Precinct steak. I was pretty impressed. Of course the bill rivaled a Precinct bill, so there's that.

I realize that Indian food is an acquired taste, but if you want good and friendly service and consistently good food (their naan is the best I've ever tasted), you should try Swad on West Galbraith Road in North College Hill. There is not any entree above $14.99 and only 4 entrees (of 90) cost that much! Another enticement is the fact that you can bring in your own adult beverages (at least until they get their liquor license).

For an Indian meal that doesn't leave you feeling bloated and also doesn't taste like every other Indian place here in Cincinnati, try Amma's Kitchen on Reading north of Section. It is south Indian, and vegan to boot. That means very clean food with no fat, butter, or stuff that bloats you. The clientele is largely Asian and orthodox Jew, but all are welcome. They has a buffet lunch, of course, but even dinner is cheap and extraordinarily tasty. And they have a lot of dishes you won't find elsewhere. One more thing...no liquor license. That means you bring your own wine or beer, and they provide setups free of charge. A bill of $35 means enough food for four people, with leftovers.

If you're in Covington on Mainstrasse you must try Otto's and bouquet. Both are right next door to each other and the owners are best friends since college. Otto's is my favorite owned by a couple who really care about Covington and are very civically involved. The specials are awesome and you must get the fried green tomatoes and the tomato soup.

I ate at Prime 47 last week for an event. It was very nice. The hostess was attractive, I suppose, if you like tall blondes with amazing bodies in short, tight dresses.
Service was excellent and the food was awesome. The prices are right up there with Ruby's, Ruth's Chris and Morton's. We were able to eat outside, which I don't think is an option at the other places, so that is a plus, but I can't really figure how Cincinnati can support 4 high-end steakhouses (5 if you count Binions, which I don't)."Give a toast to my brother, hug your family, and do everything possible to live the life you dream of. Honest question: Who in their right mind takes 'kids' to place like Tony's? As a father of three, the oldest being 11, I would not drop that kind of coin on a meal for my kids. My 11 year old loves steak, but he thinks Outback is the greatest thing ever and that's about as fancy as it's going to get for him for a few more years.
