That is what is going on here. Algerian boxer born with a vagina, listed as a woman on her birth certificate, raised a woman, competed as a woman. Based on an unconfirmed report of a rare genetic anomaly, people are claiming she is a man and cannot compete.

I couldnt read the article. How rare is that “condition”?

Like “one in how many people” have it?

Also “one in how many people” win a gold medal?

    Let’s do some math…

For demonstration purposes, assume each is 1000 to 1 odds.

Then being the 1 in a thousand for both would be “1 in a million”

But being a gold medal winner is far more rare than 1 in 1000. Assume the there 500 gold medal winners in the world. And assume just 15% of the world population (of 7B) is of an age to realistically compete for a gold. The odds therefore are 500 in 1,050,000,000. That’s .000048%.

So .000048% of people win a gold and let’s just keep the assumption that 1 in 1000 people have that gender abnormality.

    Now we’re at .000048 *(1/1000) = 1 in gazillion.

So either these are independent variables and a 1 in gazillion event happened, or there is a cause and effect going on.

That sounds like an awkward first date.

Men's and women's basketball Olympic finals were some fun to watch.

Just don't get too enthusiastic about your chants if you're on the white team!

If you ever get a chance to do SimSoc (Simulated Society) exercise, you’d learn how easy it is for factions to develop and society to disintegrate.

I was a “Have Not”, so I spent most of my day sitting on a floor in a room at a hotel. Pretty boring until someone snuck out the window and went for beer. Things looked up from there.
