As long as you're vaccinated, why again do you care about being around the unvaccinated?
On a selfish level: 96% isn't 100%. I trust the seatbelt and airbags in my car will keep me safe in most accidents, but I do not go looking for an accident to test it out. So while for the most part I have returned to normal life, I certainly would feel better if I knew the people around me at the FCC game or the TBT game this weekend are vaccinated.
On a non-selfish level: I would like to see the stop of the spread of the virus. The more it spreads, the more it will mutate, the greater risk that it will break through the vaccine and we are back to square 1. I don't ever want to go through the last year again.
Lib conspiracy? Actually, yes. I'm calling total bullshit on this!
This isn't an issue. Did she have one or 2 young unvaccinated people die on her? Sure, that's a possibility. But using this as some representation of reality is pure propaganda. To date, there are a total of only 2807 people under the age of 29 that have died of Covid in the US! That's out of a population of ~125M. That's a death rate of 0.002% for that cohort. Compare that to the 1.52% death rate for people over the age of 75 - which makes up 57% of all covid deaths in the US.
Are you telling me that she has some disproportion of that population that is creating a discernible trend? C'mon, are you really that gullible?
Moreover, how many of those patients in the that demo died of Covid alone - with no other underlying conditions? It's likely near zero. The CDC website (82 and villbilly is that official enough for you), states that "over 5% of these deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned on the death certificate. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 4.0 additional conditions or causes per death." This is nothing new - we've known this for a long time.
And no, there are no meaningful changes in the age demo trends for the US (cases or deaths): https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tra...aphicsovertime
Additionally, you can see from the WA state data (only one I could find that reports hospitalization data by age) that hospitalizations and deaths are not an issue for people under the age of 49 when you compare it to the number of cases: https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/C...shboard#tables
Get a grip people! Have some perspective! Look at the fucking data! You're being lied to and manipulated. They want you scared!
