Probably due to dealing with all the hypocrites on the politics topic the past 6 years or so

Seriously defending poor multimillionaires while they choose to support a country with one of the worst human rights records known to man. when someone goes to the end of the earth whining about getting used while they bring in millions you know that person has the opposite of “master of reality.” Screen name is the most ironic thing I think I’ve ever seen. Hysterical.
Also, people have ridiculed lebron and the nba org for the way they have handled China for years. Apparently Mor hasn’t paid attention. Plus, this isn’t an nba topic. If you want to discuss that, start a thread… once again can’t stay on topic but instead full of whataboutism and non sequiturs.
Regardless of that argument, the fact of the matter is that this split is terrible for golf as a whole. It’s taken something that didn’t need to be fixed, and completely effed it up in terms of gameplay. I’m curious what viewership is going to look like for the non majors as a whole this year, I have a feeling they are going to be much lower. Liv and the other stupid stuff like the tgl that has come out of it, has completely bastardized the sport imo.
What is the signature LIV event? Is it an overseas event or a former PGA Tour site?
Then again, only diehard fans are going to go looking for the CW for those events anyhow. Part of me wishes they could have started up about 25 years ago just so we could hear teasers for Charmed and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Once again, you don't know what you are talking about. This is not a Rory, Tiger etc. This is an average pga tour guy.

Big difference in pro golf is that you can play it for forty plus years and still be banking hundreds of thousands if not a million or two in your sixties. Average shelf life of nba, nfl, mlb? Yeah 3-7.
These poor tour players banking probably close to a million in sponsorship money.
And this kind of stupid crap happens because of the split:

Have a quick fistfight and settle the thing. And I hope the Saudis get bored with golf soon and go back to wasting their vast wealth chasing after thoroughbred race horses.
I'm now fully Team LIV. I like a good heel. And it's become mostly professional wrestling at this point anyway with all the drama.
Go team Saudi!
In this world where people think Lamar Jackson is being "disrespected" by the Ravens because they're going to put the franchise tag on him and ONLY pay him $45 million next year, the puny numbers being thrown around in this discussion are cute.
I could give two shits about whether the support comes from China or Saudi Arabia, and make no judgement about athletes accepting funds from either place. I understand the motivation for golfers to go to LIV, but am sad because it makes golf tournaments far less enjoyable (for me, and others apparently) to watch or attend. However unlike you, I don't see conspiracies behind someone asking a legitimate question. I feel sorry for you.
My god man, no one is saying they don't. They made the choice to go down this path and NO ONE feels sorry for them. They make a crap ton of money. The ones that don't make it become Head Pro's or get into insurance or god forbid have to work just like the rest of us.
From the "casual fan" perspective (someone who watches/pays attention to the majors and would check out how Kokrak was doing in other events), I think it makes the whole thing 100% more enjoyable. Frankly, few things are more boring than golf and particularly golfers themselves. This spices things up. Reed throwing a tee at Rory? Hell yeah! More of that please!
You and I are so far apart that I dont know we will ever see eye to eye.
Rory is one of the most popular golfers in the world. He's a great dude and has emerged as one of the leaders of the PGA Tour. There aren't many that don't like him.
If you were served a lawsuit from anyone would you play nice and act like nothing is happening?
Why DO they deserve guaranteed money? Because the NBA, NFL and MLB do? That's not a good answer.. Golfers play an individual sport and make money based 100% on individual performance. I look at golfers like MMA or Tennis, or competitive skiing. In almost all non-team sports there is no guaranteed money outside of endorsements.
So one of the greatest ever, yes…. Just like Tiger or spieth or rory…. May not be tourney money but they get it in sponsorships and other avenues. Typical tennis pro has to qualify for those tourneys either by ranking or play (just like a cut in golf tourneys) and if you lose in the first round (especially outside of the grand slams) it’s not much. Probably doesn’t even cover their expenses.
MMA I know zero about but I can imagine that it’s like boxing. Top performers make a ton, middle tier can make a living. Lower tier are working side hustles.
Yeah golfer doesn’t have “guarantee” money but average tour player is making north of a million dollars in tourney money alone.
And Federer is one of the top players in the world..jo shmo tennis player is not getting an appearance fee for anything. Yes, MMA guys get nice guaranteed money when they make the card of a major UFC event, but the overwhelming majority of them make jack shit until they actually win something of substance. The guys that fight in the prelims on the big cards make around 15k/fight..

Move him out of the way so we can continue this round!Quote:
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- A caddie for an amateur collapsed during the second round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Friday and received CPR over an extended period of time before being taken to a nearby hospital.
Play was stopped on No. 11 for nearly an hour as the caddie for Pebble Beach businessman Geoff Couch was attended to for an extended period of time after he collapsed on the fairway.
The playing group included amateur Lukas Nelson and PGA Tour professionals Beau Hossler and Max McGreevy, who appeared to be shaken up after witnessing the incident. Shortly after the ambulance arrived, Couch left the playing group.
Damar Hamlin collapses and the NFL cancels a huge game with playoff implications. Not saying they were wrong, but some Joe Schmo caddie for an amateur is not an NFL player.
Pga tour ratings tanking. Wonder when they let Liv players back in??
I haven't been able to keep up. Will Jason (and some of the other LIVers) get to play the Masters? Presumably Mickelson, Johnson and Reed with their lifetime exemption will be there. And Bryson's US Open win should have him in there for a while. And I'm sure some of the other guys have various exemptions outside of the WGR.
This will be the first Masters post-split. That should make for some good drama/TV if there are enough LIV guys there.
Lol the tour is greedy but the players that left for liv are just doing what’s best for them lol ok.
If you think those numbers are bad, just wait until liv’s numbers on the wb network.
Pga tour did something stupid to their tv viewership when they prioritized the 12 tourneys with big purses.. made the other tourneys mainly a list of no names that no one cares about.
I’m sure the numbers will be large or comparable next week to what it was last year. All in all basically the average golf viewer and the average tour player are the big losers in all of this and everyone else has made a lot of money, yippee.
I have been to the Memorial the last two years. Never heard from them soliciting my business until this year, and now repeated emails. I am guessing that ticket sales are sucking wind along with viewership. I know that I personally have no interest watching the tour with half the competition absent. I used to watch almost every event, but haven't since the big break last season. And I will not be headed up to Dublin this year either.
We all said golf in the long run is going to be hurt by this. I think ratings will level off and be ok for the PGA. You need a couple of years for the some of the younger players to emerge and become more popular. They will have more oppty now with 20-30 spots open from the LIV defections. Only players I really miss are DJ, Kokrak and Louie.
The only thing I miss about dj is his unbelievably hot wife
Liv will never be able to replicate anything close to what happened today with jt, rory and tiger. Liv is stupid
Sounds like koepka is having some buyers remorse. I bet a few more are or will feel the same way.
The PGA will provide great times like you are mentioning from today. Especially for the fans watching.
But the guys who took the Saudi millions are probably not going to be unhappy; or their families.
