Saw something online where someone suggested playing the Ryder and Solheim Cups at the same time on the same course. If nothing else, that would get a lot more eyeballs watching the ladies play.

Honestly, I don’t like the pick one player thing. It’s a team competition. If tied at the end, id have everyone play their competitor one hole, whoever wins the most holes, wins. If tied, just keep playing until it’s not.
I didn't know until reading your post that the Solheim Cup was women.
What did you think it was?

Probably not good that the US failed to win a single match on day one.
Choke job. They looked scared and intimidated. It's over.
To be fair, we all saw this coming.
I thought I saw world rankings on both squads, and we looked to be comparable.
Ugh.
Euros have Hovland, rory, rahm, rose and aberg.
Americans have one hit wonders Wyndham Clark (who had a problem keeping his mouth shut all week) and Brian harman and then Sam burns.
I didn’t think the Americans were going to win, but even I didn’t see this.
Morning was another step backward for the US, but they won the afternoon session 3-1 to at least have an outside shot tomorrow. Gonna need 8 1/2 points to retain the Ryder Cup.
Match ended on a high note as Patrick Cantlay helped the US to come back from 1 down after 16 holes to take a full point.
What a putt by Cantlay to keep the slim chances alive
So far, it’s been an old fashioned butt whuppin’.

Rory is whinny such a biath! Don’t get how people like that dude but at least it made this cup interesting
Patrick Cantlay was clutch again. Jon Rahm saving a half-point for the Euros in the first match looks big with the US leading in 5 matches at the moment.
The US has to come from behind in the final 2 matches to retain the Cup.
Huuuuuuge up-and-down by Max Homa to retain his point and put the pressure on Europe for the final 2 matches. Cup not over yet.
It's over now.
The US team seems to always suck at the foursomes and four ball matches, only getting 4 of the possible 16 points this time. Wonder why that is?

Foursomes record is something awful. Americans for a few decades have had issues with keeping the ball in the fairway unless they are places like hazeltine, Valhalla etc where they are a mile wide. It continued this weekend. That format especially you have to keep the ball in play.
Zach Johnson was one of the worst captains I have ever seen. Just absolutely horrible decision making. Spieth playing in foursomes? On what planet did that make sense? Scheffler playing with koepka?
Jason Kokrak locked up a Top 24 season finish on the LIV Tour today at Jeddah with a huge clutch birdie on his 17th hole.
That guarantees him a spot on the 2024 LIV Tour and lots more money.
Brooks Koepka won the event. I have a feeling there will be some changes on the Smash GC team next year. Jason is safe and Brooks will keep his brother Chase on the team even though he’s dead weight. Matthew Wolf will be gone. He’s been a piker all year.
Congratulations to Jason!!
By the way. The Xavier Golf Invitational is at Maketewah this week on Monday & Tuesday. Check it out. Two guys on the team tied Mak’s course record of 63 last week. Soph Carson Bellish and Frosh Ray Filter. Coach Arlinghaus is recruiting talent!!
RIP Andy Bean.
They will have a “play in” mini tournament.
If Chase survives that, Brooks, as Smash Team Captain has the right to pick him.
It’s counterproductive for the team, and Brooks might be fed up with his Bro dragging them down, but it’s really up to Brooks.
Wolf will definitely be gone. He’s been a somewhat disruptive force this year and there is no love lost between he and Brooks/Jason.
Does Chase get a spot in the qualifier ? The announcers made it seem like 45+ are gone. Not sure who exactly gets in the qualifier event. I know it's some from the Asian tour but not sure if numbers 25-44 on the LIV list also play in that. Brooks latest comments make it seem like Chase is done (and he should be...other than a small handful of rounds, he really looked out of place compared to the vast majority of players). Smash was basically playing with three guys all year (actually 2 1/2; Wolff would show up occasionally with good rounds).
Wolff is done with Smash...Brooks doesn't like him and has made that clear. But he did finish 27th for the year, granted he hasn't done anything since the first half of the year other than Greenbrier. Don't know what Wolff did to make himself be a disruptive force other than not play well. I know he's been dealing with his "mentals." But was it Wolff himself through his actions and interactions that made him disruptive or was it Brooks just pissed at him for playing poorly and in Brooks' mind not practicing hard enough ?
Brooks should have stuck with Peter Uihlein and not swapped him out for Wolff.
I don't particularly like Brooks, and it seems I like him less every time he opens his mouth, but I begrudgingly root for him since he plays on my favorite team.
Looks like Rahm is set to join liv. That’s a catastrophic move for the tour. However you want to make your money but this makes Rahm, a pretty big hypocrite given his past quotes.
I'm here for it Rahm!
Honestly, who cares? The PGA Tour actually kinda blows. It's only the majors that matter.
I care in that I’d like to see the best players at some of the other big events outside of the majors. Golf is starting to lose my attention anyways though. Between the circus that is liv, the dumb tgl idea, the roll back of the ball. The sport seems to be intent on destroying itself.
I get it, but from my casual fan perspective LIV is the first interesting thing to happen to the PGA Tour since Tiger Woods. I definitely follow/enjoy the majors, but the actual Tour is something to fall asleep to on Sunday afternoons. I miss following Kokrak, but that's about it.
It will be interesting to see how all this gets worked out. From my understanding the pif deal is required to be done by the end of the year. Not sure I see that happening, unless this was the way to get the tours attention to get it done.
