    I wish this mattered more than it did, but with the G5 not having a path to the playoff it doesn't...

    Appalachian State and SMU are having really big years. They're both still way behind Boise State and UCF for the single G5 NY6 spot, but both are really good and fun to watch.

    I think if they're undefeated they'll jump UCF. But they'll need Boise to lose.

    And there IS a path. They need to schedule big-time opponents on the road (or neutral sites if they can make it work) and beat them. Boise had a couple of teams that would have been right there for playoff spots (before being upset late in the season by MWC teams), but unfortunately it was at a time when there were only 2 spots available (they never got above #3).
