Xavier is in a great position right now, frankly, as good as they could want it. We could argue about the hypotheticals all day, and yes it would be nice to have an overall winning record, but you all are right, it's all about winning the conference tournament.
A sweep of Seton Hall this weekend, and X wins the regular season championship. They also have the tiebreakers over everyone they've played, and still have to go to Villanova.

Xavier got the midweek split, losing to Miami and beating NKU. On to the important games with Seton Hall!

Game 1 of the weekend series with Seton Hall has been moved to Miami and will be played at 6 PM tonight. Guessing Prasco Park wasn't available since field conditions at Xavier's Hayden Field aren't conducive to getting in a game today.

One win over Villanova next weekend and the Musketeers are in the Big East tournament. Mathematically, if they lost and *three teams* won out, they could miss it.

On the other hand, with a sweep of Villanova they're likely to be the #1 seed in the Big East Tournament. Creighton would have to sweep St. John's (and Villanova which is more likely) to beat out the Muskies.

I wonder if Villanova has a star pitcher on their hands - they're 4-0 in series openers in the Big East but 0-8 in Saturday/Sunday games. Still, it's a series that Xavier ought to sweep but certainly can't take for granted.
Creighton still has to play a struggling St. John's team before closing out the Big East with Villanova themselves. Outside of the Xavier series, Creighton's only other loss in conference play was at Butler earlier this season.
