The government shutdown has necessitated Air Force to cancel all their interscholastic sporting events until the shutdown is resolved. They'll try to make them up if it's a short shutdown, but is not guaranteed to happen if this shutdown drags on for a couple of weeks.

Navy will play their home game against Boston U today; no word yet on whether Army would play Lehigh at home.

That's not great for the recruiting pitch of academy coaches.

I don't think Patriot League coaches really use that against Army and Navy, but Air Force has always been difficult since they actually play in a major conference in the Mountain West.
