I wouldn't count on an above-.500 run on the upcoming 9-game road trip (Cubs, Indians and Cards) - I just get the feeling that the next few weeks will be auditions for players like Matt Harvey, Billy Hamilton and Scooter Gennett. The past 2-3 weeks have been fun to watch, but the run they're on can quickly be derailed with an injury here and there.

Sure, but did you expect them to go 8-3 vs. cubs, braves and brewers? No reason they can't go 5-4 on this trip. Cards suck right now too.

come on now.......lets be a little more optimistic than that. The Reds are hitting, getting decent starting pitching and the Pen has been solid all year.

The Reds record over the last 6 weeks is very good, and it's a pretty large sample size. Harvey has oddly seemed to give the starter rotation an identity.

I think it's more that they aren't throwing Bailey and Finnegan out there.

True, but the Reds are also scoring a lot of runs lately.

And you may have read this too, but Finnegan got shelled in AAA and is moving to the bullpen. Looks like Reds got nothing for Cueto.

No argument on the offense. The Reds are 8th in MLB in runs scored. I was just referring to the point about Harvey. He's definitely been a positive development but I think it's more addition by subtraction (of Bailey and Finnegan).

And it's crazy how to Cueto trade was so bad compared to the Frazier trade which netted Peraza, Schebler and Dixon.

No argument there either. Those games were L's the minute they took the mound.

Of course, Finnegan said in an interview that he felt he was just "turning the corner" when the Reds sent him to AAA.

He should do a U-turn and come back from around that corner.
