Justin Martin announced he his commitment to Louisville this evening.
I would have loved to get Martin in the fold, but I think one of his HS teammates is already a UL commit so that probably had a lot to do with his decision.
He would have been a really good recruit, but I know Sean probably already has a lot of other very good players he is ready to go after is already after.
JD Weatherspoon is probably the next kid they go after at the SF position. He has a lot potential and is an athletic freak.
Time to move on.

Few can say they went head to head against slick Rick in a recruiting battle and won, so there's no shame in this. Weatherspoon would still be a great add. And of course he still have a great shot at the Russian this year.

We missed out on Martin...
According to Rivals, Justin Martin picked Louisville today over X. That would have been fantastic to land a SF of his caliber within a day of getting Jordan Latham. Latham is rated #44 overall by Rivals and Martin is #38 overall in the class of 2010 per Rivals...Almost 2 Top 50 recruits in 2 days.

I was just being silly. I'm sure he's a good player.
I'm enough of a Louisville fan that I drove nine hours round trip on Saturday from Boston to see the Cards lay an egg at Syracuse. I simply do not care for Rick Pitino.

Martin is back on the board:

I talked to a friend of mine that follows Lawrence North's program here in Indy who has seen Martin play quite a few times, and he reiterated that he is a talented scorer. I'd love to see X go get this kid."The program, the university seek domination. Some schools seek wins; others seek championships. They're seeking championships."

X will be back in the mix, but nothing definite.
"He's a little bit ball-dominant, he needs to have the ball in his hands, and he's not a good shooter." Ball-dominant … isn't that a nice way of calling someone a ball hog? Where is my Jay Bilas Thesaurus?
