I suppose super long term there's some argument about manufacturing local and logistics, etc., etc. that the tariffs could force to make things cheaper. Or if it forced some trade deals that lowered the cost of things.

But tariffs directly lowering the cost of anything?!? I've seen a lot of X screenshots allegedly of Shein purchases with tariff/import surcharges. Have also heard lots of talk in meetings about altering tradeflows. On the latter, I wonder how much of that is just people justifying their existence by looking proactive when things are likely to change before any of the trade flow alterations they're talking about can be implemented anyway.

Since the other examples you used were not made by the President, my statement still stands. I guess you could say Trump helped push the two weeks spread comment but that was at least an unkown, tariffs are very known as to what happens.
Are the affects of tariffs known? You mentioned 50 years. You’re a bit off in your assessment.

Not yet. It’s been almost been a whole month. Think about it. One month.

Yeah they are in the short term, which is what the WH and Leavitt had meltdowns over today, because it was going to be in plain sight. However, anyone with a freaking brain and knows how to use it, knows what tariffs do. Yeah maybe, MAYBE in the long term it would help boost manufacturing and our entire supply chain domestically. However, unless they come up with some kind of fountain of youth we will be long gone before that ROI comes to roost.

You don't just snap your fingers and BOOM! We are now a manufacturing/technology industry giant again along with everything that goes into the supply chain of all of those things. And, then what's the incentive for all of these companies do this? Because Trump told them so? lol. You may say money...well where's that money going to come from? Hmm.

Are they directly raising the costs? We can feed ourselves and have plenty of energy.

    Apologies Go.

    Now we’re talking.

I remember asking my Grad Econ professor, what happens in a post service economy. He shrugged. Who is John Galt?

The amount of Gov’t and Consumer debt we have is no longer sustainable. We have to start making things again.

SB: What do you make? Where are you in this new "manufacturing" economy? How many millions have you invested? Until you show the money, you're just a bag of Trumpster wind.
