Sweep of Villanova with 3 runs in the 9th. Love it
We've come a long way since my bench seat at the Fieldhouse!

Even better was Creighton sweeping St. John's to put the Musketeers back into a first-place tie with UConn.
This week Xavier gets 2 midweek games with UC visiting Hayden Field today and a trip to Wright State tomorrow.

With Georgetown and Seton Hal coming up in the conference, Xavier looks in great shape to go to Creighton at the end of the year only playing for seeding.

X up 14-2 bottom 5 going for the season sweep of a surprisingly decent UC team. (Surprisingly because it's surprising when UC doesn't completely suck at something). Carter Hendrickson's grand slam was the top highlight so far.

Walkoff grand slam in the 10th to win the opener against Georgetown today. Up 1-0 in the second in game #2. 9-4 in the Big East for now.
Now up 6-2 in the 4th. Promising.Last edited by GoMuskies; 04-26-2025 at 04:11 PM.

Doubleheader sweep. Didn't realize until watching today's game that Georgetown's ace from last year (Cody Bowker) transferred to Vandy and already got a win against the Musketeers earlier in the season.
Elsewhere, UConn has now won a pair of games at St. John's this weekend and Creighton won their series opener at home against Villanova. X is now tied with UConn for 1st place with the tiebreaker in hand.

NCAA Bracket Projection - Baseball America
This was from earlier in the week - Xavier is currently projected as the Big East autobid as the #3 seed in the Chapel Hill regional with North Carolina. UC and UConn are among the first four out at the moment.
As for some of Xavier's noncon opponents: LSU was #3 overall, Tennessee was #5, Vandy was #8 and Oregon State was #9. Kentucky would be a #2 seed in the WVU Regional and both Ball State and Wright State would be #4 seeds in their respective regions as well.

Which means if X does not win the BE tournament it projects as last four in or first four out.

6-1 lead in the second today. Sweep would be excellent, obviously.
