#10 for Kentucky is a big boy. He makes the Illinois center look average.

Maryland knew how to appease the basketball gods by giving up a game-winner at home against Michigan State earlier in the season.

Well, let’s check in on the Tourney.

    Sweet 16: 4 1-seeds, 3 2-seeds, 2 3-seeds, 3 4-seeds, 1 5-seed, 2 6-seeds, and a 10.

    Or looked at by conference: 7 SEC, 4 B10, 4 B12, 1 ACC.

Say goodbye to Cinderella folks. We’ve officially fucked this up.

People whined and cried about players not getting paid. This is the result. Now you have degenerate gambling addicts threatening these guys on social media. RJ Luis deleted his accounts the harassment was so bad. Then again these guys are getting massive paydays so maybe some public criticism of performance is warranted? Either way this era of college sports is going to be looked at as the dark ages.

It's nowhere near as fucked up as it may become. In ten years we may have a 96 team tournament that the P4 is running and not the NCAA, and where about 64 of the 96 all come from the P4, and that auto-bids are no more leaving the other 28 conferences with either limited access or no access.

I've seen multiple reports that ratings for the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament are up. They are the highest they've been in 32 years. Ratings for the regular season games were also up, which I don't see how that is even possible seeing as how there are now so many games on TV at the same time that there are just too many options for a single game to get high ratings.

Old fans like me do not like how the game has changed. But, I guess new fans are finding college basketball and watching it. I suppose it’s also possible that it’s all related to the rise in popularity of legal sports betting.

Yep, ratings have never been better and the matchups this weekend are fantastic.

There are always one off tournaments with no Cinderella, plus some of the better mid major conference teams are now major conference teams with realignment. I wouldn't get too worked up about a one off tourney. We literally just had 2 mid majors in a Final 4 (for maybe the first time in the modern era?).

Butler and VCU actually played each other in a Final Four. Neither is considered mid-major now, but in 2011 (I think) Butler was in the Horizon League and VCU was in the CAA.

Ah, good call. Is it just that one other time since 1985?
