And yet once again we find ourselves in the dumbest debate, a bunch of people on either side arguing about an off label use of a drug none us knew about 14 days ago. If it could work, great, study it properly and let's find out. The medical people in my life all seem of one mind that the science behind it doesn't make sense as a treatment. I am going to side with them at this point, cause if I knew shit about science I might have done something useful with my life. I also trust them to change their mind if proper data comes out that it could work, cause each and everyone of them is desperate at this point for anything that will provide them any sort of relief.

However, a bunch of non-medical people out there pushing it as a miracle cure is stupidly dangerous, especially when it is a drug that can be picked up at a feed store. Why this was first reported by any news outlet, and why the controversy is now getting so much oxygen by the news is just dangerous. It only further sows disinformation and leads us into these type of stupid debates.

I do find it somewhat ironic that the same people that are anti-vax cause it hasn't been studied enough, have no problem not only jumping on the bandwagon of off label untested remedies like HCQ and Ivermectin, but become the biggest cheerleaders.

1) I’ve heard no one ever push it as a “miracle cure”. Sounds like a TV is putting words in your head. Horse pills, right?
2) There are many medical professionals who believe the science supports it too. Just because your TV doesn’t tell you that doesn’t make it “misinformation”
3) If you want safe, you undermine your own argument. Ivermectin has been FDA approved for years and proven safe. Only 1 of 3 vaccines can claim that.
4) You are over generalizing. Only fruitcakes on either side of the vax debate see this as one sided. I support anything that can safely be tested to alleviate COVID, vax or therapeutic. Lives are lost because of refusal to be objective about the vaccines, and lives are lost because of unwillingness to believe a safe therapeutic may have some benefit.

The fact that the media keeps equivocating all Ivermectin as if it is solely a horse dewormer makes it seem agenda driven rather than science driven, especially when docs and scientists the world over are recommending it for COViD and the FDA itself recommends it to treat humans for other purposes. It may have no affect at all on COVID, but an honest way to communicate that is to point out there is no evidence it can successfully treat COVID, that you should consult a doc before using it and to determine dosage (regardless of the use), and to be sure to take the drug formulated for humans because the drug formulated for livestock can be dangerous to humans.
