I have others in my household, but I'm the only one with direct exposure. Not quaranting the entire family for two weeks if I receive a negative test..sorry

I have a feeling DeWine is bringing the hammer down today. I live in Lebanon and it’s spreading like wildfire here...
In risk of sounding like Muskie in Dayton- why all the testing? Assuming everyone is quarantined anyways what is the benefit? And who is ordering this? All the hospital systems in our area are not testing asymptomatic people freely. Just curious...

Quarantine is sometimes longer with no positive test. Also, if we have it we'd like to know. Doctors ordered the tests with no issues.

I don’t think the recommendation is for your entire family to quarantine unless you test positive. The recommendation is that if you had a high risk exposure that you quarantine. A negative test 5 days into a 14 day quarantine is exactly a situation that could promote spread since it seems like you will end your quarantine if it’s negative. This is why we are seeing this spread like wildfire.... sorry

Yes but you did not have direct contact with this person did you? It would be more likely you test negative this week and positive next week. The 10 day timeline is for symptomatic people.

My son was in a car with me for two hours on Sunday. On Monday he tested positive. All five of us were on the couch together Sunday night. Lots of direct contact.

Got it... I misread original post.

I think Go is correct. Just want to know. My daughter has dance classes 4 times a week. My youngest is on the 7th grade basketball team. Just want to let coaches and dance instructors have all the facts so they can decide how to proceed. But your rationale is exactly why I chose not to be tested. I don’t have any symptoms, I’m quarantining and I’m getting paid to sit at home on my ass. #guvmntjob

When my wife took our two youngest to get tested Monday, the doctor urged her to test again, so she did it. May be because she is a teacher.

Ok... I get the curiosity, but a positive test hardly confirms immunity either. I guess I just think it’s not great medical advice to test asymptomatic people who are already in a quarantine. Unless we could contact trace and test everyone all at once nothing changes other than burning another test and potentially having a false negative. The dance team and basketball team then gets tested? And their families? And they all quarantine while waiting on test results? That’s quite a Pandora’s box of testing I’m not sure our system is capable of handling. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a shortage of tests in the next couple weeks.
