I usually like to go to facts and figures when getting to the bottom of things like this, but I really don’t think we have enough knowledge to trust any numbers or say for sure what they mean. We know China is lying because.....they are China. We don’t have enough tests here to know anything.
Of course there are countless more infected than we know of, because so few have been tested. I honestly think I may have had it January into February after a 9 hour car ride with someone who had just returned from NYC. She coughed the entire way! Five days later I’m sick as a dog, coughing, body aches, exhaustion and a strange rash which I recently read presents in 20.5% of cases. It could have been something else, but without tests, we’ll never know.

A combination of these two websites, although if you look at the footnotes in the last column you can get to the Ohio site.
However, you have to track this every day to get the daily numbers because they don’t give it day by day. Probably on purpose because it makes their models look bad. And if the numbers of cases has been so high in the last week, where are the hospitalizations (that you can’t fake) or ICU admits?

MUCH, MUCH better, thanks for asking. I never considered going to a doctor, It was a horrible cough and body ache thing, which I assumed was because I coughed the equivalent of a thousand sit-ups daily. (I’m not a rush to the doctor kind of guy, I don’t think they are as smart as they think they are....long story about an unwarranted surgery.) I occasionally have a small cough now, and the strange little rash that seems to move around persists.
I am NOT saying I had it, just that it’s a curious situation and it sounds like a real possibility. If they had easy testing, it would be nice to know.Still, we don’t know if the antibodies even protect you, so it wouldn’t change my behavior much. Each week buys us more knowledge.

A person does not have to feel sick to be sick. Yes, they must carry the virus. The sneaky part of it is they may carry it and have ZERO idea. I’m going to post a brief quote, then a link to a very long thread about this led by guys on my Bills message board, specifically a guy with a PhD in microbiology. He’s worked in Big Pharma and university research for decades. Many of the other posters work in the same field. The thread is more science than media hype. Again, it’s long, but there is a ton of non-media info in there. Is it like a meteorologist talking about hurricanes? Yes to some extent, but there is a lot of real info there.
“The info about the primary spread being through person to person aerosol transmission (breathing or coughing) is likely correct but transmission from touching surfaces then touching face is also thought to occur. A new study has shown the virus can live on porous surfaces (paper, cardboard, hair, cloth) for ~3 hrs, and hard surfaces for 1-2 days. “

He said you can get it from talking with someone. I think that is quite true. He said they may not be sick, but I think that means they may be asymptomatic. They must have the virus, whether they know it or not. You can get it just from being close, talking with them or being in the same air space. I don’t think science has any question about that. How long does it hang in the air in a hallway, office or elevator? I have no idea. Also, not trying to be difficult, but “not usually” and “non-existent” have different meanings. Look, these are strange times, and I won’t pretend to have many answers, just lots of questions.
I don’t care what your preferred news source is. I know the linked thread is long, but there are a lot of pretty solid facts in there if you want pretty reliable info before making conclusions. I don’t trust the media stuff much at all, on either side.
I’ll just pray for the right decisions to get the best outcome possible at this point.
