That appears to be the case for you. After all, you are the one getting all exercised over Ohio covid policies that are specifically allowed under Ohio's constitution.

I’m actually citing examples from other states now. But again, I said I had issues with the few sentences that allows unchecked authority by an unelected body. I had no idea that was in our state’s constitution and it’s being abused by a governor I voted for who will not be getting my vote in a few years. There are larger issues at play here. What happens next year when the flu hits hard and they do this crap all over again bc no one called them on their bull crap this time ?

That’s a good thing that supports your stance that we are overreacting a bit. Lowers the mortality rate when you increase the denominator.

Similarly cases of death are underrepresented because there are still hospitals not in the major cities that were not able to or not aware to test early. Further, there is evidence that I believe Dr Crawford cited somewhere in this thread that COVID infections contribute to other potential causes of death such as cardiac arrest. It is unlikely to test someone that arrives DOA from cardiac arrest. Tests are being saved for the living. Again this is not as nearly high a number as the underreported cases.

Edit: just read all of the article Paul linked which again references sudden cardiac death. That is not something unique to NYC.

Wow. So factual. If there are so many damn cases, how come these people aren't flooding the hospitals? Where is the overrun?
I really don't give a damn about the "number of cases per day" EXCEPT that the original model of 20,000 per day, then 10,000 per day is what has been publicly used to justify shutting the whole damn state down. No one is overrunning the hospitals and no where are the ICU's under stress in this state. And we have either passed or approaching the alleged peak date. It's becoming madness, and the justification for it is rapidly wearing thin.

It's like Marty Walsh's night time curfew. The virus takes a break during the day but really attacks at night.

I get what you’re saying, and some of it is truly stupid. But there has to be limits. Sometimes people need to be protected from themselves and the most stupid behaviors. Fining people for being in the cars is obviously ridiculous. For those who want to gather in large services, they should be allowed to thin themselves from the herd, but when it affects others there has to be some control. At one point 3/5 of the cases in S. Korea were traced back to one church. It’s an ideal delivery system.

Some of this is way overboard....in both directions.

AR’s night time curfew and the MS $500 fines are absolutely stupid. I’ve seen nothing like this in Ohio.

KY going to report any license plate numbers this weekend at any gatherings. This would include family and Churches and give it to the health department to demand that these people quarantine for 14 days. This is in a state that just wouldn’t have a problem with or without shelter in place due to how it’s just not a densely populated state and people don’t live on top of each other. The state is no different than other small states that are doing nothing or very little, like Iowa, Arkansas and Oklahoma. The governor wants to feel important in my opinion. I mean he does his stupid press conferences every day and says the exact same thing. Little does he know, or maybe he does, that people in KY are pretty much out and about, maybe not like normal, but still are packing a lot businesses that are open.
