The Wire was excellent, and certainly in any discussion for best TV dramas. I think the thing that gives the edge to Breaking Bad, to me, is the overall production of it. I've always been big into that and Breaking Bad stands out compared to any other show in that regard. The camera work, coloring and lighting, and all of the editing techniques used really make it a great visual experience. Just the overall tempo of the show in general is in a league of its own in my opinion. And that's before you even get into the acting and writing. It's just a masterful show all around.

I really need to get back into The Wire. I watched 1.5 seasons about 5 years ago, but it was my freshman year so I got distracted and got away from it.
Just started True Blood, but The Wire and Deadwood are high on my list. HBO Go is amazing.
I'll second the Newsroom. Sorkin is an acquired taste but I am a fan.

I wish HBO Go had a feature where I could download episodes and watch when I am on a plane, or somewhere without a free internet connection.

Saw that the first half of season 5 for Breaking Bad will begin to stream this weekend. Just in time to catch up before the last half begins.
