Summer movies: Tree of Life: why didn't you warn me?

I have not heard one person say they liked Tree of Life, which is disapointing because the last Malick movie II saw was The Thin Red Line and I enjoyed it. My wife can't stand the narrative style he uses but I don't mind it if the movie works. It sure sounds like this movie does not work..at all

I'm no Brad Pitt Hater as I can name a handful of movies that he's done that I really liked:

A River Runs Through it
Legends of the Fall
Snatch
Fight Club
Inglorious Basterds

Agreed...I thought he was great in Seven and 12 Monkeys as well.

I saw Cars 2 today with my son, and while it was mildly entertaining....it was not the funniest or best Pixar movie I have ever seen.

I did like the clip before the movie that looked like a mini sequal to Toy Story 3. The entire series is great, and I would pay money to see the next movie in line just out of curiousity as to what will happen next....

Totally agree. The Toy Story Hawaiian Vacation short was better than Cars 2. Little LadyMuskie enjoyed Cars 2, but not as much as she likes Cars. And, after the movie all she talked about was the Toy Story short.

Truthfully, though, he didn't carry any of those movies, with maybe the exception of Fight Club (which I personally thought was stupid - definitely a guy movie). I loved his Aldo Raine in Inglorious Basterds (just watched it again last night), but he had help in those other movies from much better actors like Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn, Tom Skeritt and Edward Norton. If you watch a movie he truly carries like Benjamin Button or Babel or Troy, it's painful.
