Sorry to bring this news to the X Community. Irv Etler, Xavier's last NCAA football coach, passed away earlier this week. I know he stayed in touch over the years with a lot of his players, and it was always a great point of pride for him.

Sorry, Pontiff. I believe that you have had too much sacrificial wine again.
Irv Etler suceeded Ed Biles for two years, then they fired him and hired Dick Selcer. He lasted two years.
Finally, XU got a real coach Tom Checchini, who led them to a 5-5 record in their final year- and a win over the Bore-cats. Then Father Mulligan dumped the football program.

I'm sure you're right, MOR. The death notice is apparently incorrect as well.
