Here's the Grandview Medical Center doctor directory - no one named Brytney Cobia:

    https://www.grandviewhealth.com/find-a-doctor?letter=C

No one named "Brytney" either (in case she goes by another last name).

The fact that Yahoo!.com, USA Today, and Business Insider did not do any basic due diligence speaks volumes on the state of our media. No wonder only 16% of the population thinks they are trustworthy.

You may have your mind made up on every issue, but not everyone does. I want compete and accurate information before I make up my mind and it is difficult to obtain. This story wasn’t just posted on Facebook. It was propagated all over the place. I saw it at Yahoo!.com, USA today, business insider, and several other websites picked the story up and ran with it. But none of them were critical of it at all they just posted it as fact. It was posted here by Bobbie as fact. I didn’t see anyone jump in and question it other than XULou. I’m kind of glad he did because I took the story at face value. I’ve spoken to several people who have use that story to defend their position on vaccination. The point Lou is making is that there is a lot of propaganda out there and many people are not being critical of it when it comes from their favorite news source, whether right leaning or left leaning. To point out right leaning bias does not make left leaning bias disappear, the same is true for provax and antivax sources. Everyone should think critically of everything they read, regardless of the source of information.

Here is a link to the USA Today story via yahoo (the title of the link appears to have changed, but as of right now it still links to the original article):

Pretty gullible for people to believe anything coming from Facebook no matter who picks the story up.

Regardless the only point Lou is making is that anything related to his position is absolute fact and anything that dissents from it is propaganda. He calls out Bobbie’s post and then in the same breath, cites a propaganda message from a fringe website that is at best misleading, or worse a flat out lie.

To still be considering whether or not the vaccine is safe at this point seems odd based on the number that have been vaccinated. Of course there are risks with everything but my gawd.

Annoying article in that it stereotypes an entire group of people and just creates more trouble…McConnell and some other republicans have been advocating for the vaccine since it came out, but let’s make blanket statements and push blame.

This is guaranteed to make head spins - from Alex Berenson thread today:

2/ AND THESE MRNAs LOOK LESS LIKE VACCINES EVERY DAY.

They don’t act mechanistically like other vaccines.

They don’t confer lifetime or long-term immunity like nearly all other vaccines.

They don’t appear to reduce transmission significantly like nearly all other vaccines.

3/ At best they reduce disease severity.

    THAT’S WHAT THERAPEUTICS DO.

So how are they - legally - vaccines? Because they use your immune system to attack disease?

Proof that he just might be right? Moderna admits this on their SEC filing:

"Currently, mRNA is considered a gene therapy product by the FDA."

Interesting discussion on the Berenson thread: https://twitter.com/AlexBerenson/sta...77276494684163

    ------------------------------

Edit - just saw these statements in the Moderna SEC filing - thought these were quite interesting as well:

"No mRNA drug has been approved in this new potential category of medicines, and may never be approved as a result of efforts by others or us. mRNA drug development has substantial clinical development and regulatory risks due to the novel and unprecedented nature of this new category of medicines."

"nonclinical or preclinical study results may show potential mRNA medicines to be less effective than desired or to have harmful or problematic side effects;"

"clinical trial results may show the mRNA medicines to be less effective than expected (e.g., a clinical trial could fail to meet one or more endpoint(s)) or to have unacceptable side effects or toxicities;"

"We have incurred significant losses since our inception and anticipate that we will continue to incur significant losses for the foreseeable future."

But even more to the point is the fact that the presentation is this article is an ad populum fallacy. The truth depends upon the facts, not who agrees or disagrees. Further, what does it matter if a bunch of Republicans with little to no credibility now agree with a bunch of Democrats with little to no credibility? Not to mention the Hegelian Dialectic playing out before our very eyes with CNN (and the like) on one side and Fox News (and the like) on the other side.

Bobbie still hasn’t acknowledged that he posted an article that might turn out to have been a lie, he just posts another article that agrees with his opinion and ignores everything else. Where is the pursuit of knowledge and truth?

So where is your proof ?- Might? haha. Louie might get a vaccine some day C'mon you can do better than that and Louie's right wing tweets. Dr. Cobia is most definitely a Doc working in Birmingham Al. Many docs work on a contract and wouldn't be included in the directory. 96% of Dems got or intend to get the vax. 46% of R's say they won't, meanwhile people are dying.

New CDC guidelines. Guess we'll be wearing masks for a while.

If the vaccine really works then why do I need to wear a mask? This news will definitely make it harder to get the unvaccinated on board.
