You look at our top 4 states are Ohio, Indiana, New York and Cali widely regarded as the top 4 high school basketball states.I think that goes hand in hand with the success we've had since '96

That's true. But its also true that a majority of our players come from a 200 mile radius. Recruiting, even at top schools, is a regional affair.

And X has been lucky that one of the hottest recruiting areas of the country in the past 15 years has been Ohio and Indiana. It's mind boggling how much talent has come from both states.

If OSU wasn't preoccupied with such players as Oden, Cook, and Conley, maybe they would have taken Derrick Brown from us.

That is exactly right. Its all been trickle down effect, but now It seems alot of recruits are now looking at us on the same level as the Big Ten and Big East schools. That's only gonna open the skies for how high we can reach. I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years from now if we may be close to the same level as NC, Duke, Indiana, and G'Town, but without the history.

Aren't we about due to hear on a 2010 recruit? I thought that Sean indicated we might hear something in that area about now in his Ryans' show last week.

X-Man, we have 2 recruits for 2010 that have already verbally committed. Jordan Latham is a Rivals 4 star PF #44 overall in class of 2010 and he is 6'8"...We also have a SF/PF combo in J.D. Weatherspoon 6'6" who is ridiculously athletic as evidenced by his YouTube videos and he is a Rivals 3 Star recruit rated #135 overall in the Rivals Top 150 for 2010...Sean mentioned on his show that X is hopefully going to get a committment from a big man for 2009, or next year...We already have 6'6" SF Kevin Parrom Rivals 4 Star, #84 overall in 2009, but we are certainly in on the mix for Kryl Natyazhko, who is a 6'10" Center and Rivals 4 Star player rated 75th overall in 2009...Have also read that we are in the mix on former Rivals 5 star recruit, but current 3 Star recruit Dashonte Riley, who is currently #121 overall in the class of 2009.

All of these guys sound pretty solid, but I feel it would be nice to get Kryl committed for next year. That would really enhance next years class with Kryl, Parrom, Lyons, and Crawford all ready for next year.

MP23 I'm aware of, and very excited by, the 2009 and 2010 commits. My question was about comments that Miller made regarding a possible new verbal for 2010 that we might to be hearing about. Sean also mentioned another 2009 commit likely in the spring signing period, likely Natyazhko given his other statements. But there has been nary a peep on the 2010 front.

XMan- Naddir Tharpe (PG) is the recruit in question. There's pretty good intel out there that says he's a heavy XU lean. He'll eiother be a 2010 or 2011 recruit based on his prep school classification.
dayton will lose by 40 and we will loot tonight.
