Joe McKeown is leaving George Washington for Northwestern.
Ouch.

WTF???
Why on earth would he leave a good program to go to a nothing program in an overrated league?
This makes no sense.

It sounds like it might have more to do with his son. Sometimes you have to look out for the welfare of your family.

Maybe he had gone as far as he could go at GW - he did have the Elite 8 appearance in 1997 and maybe 1 or 2 additional Sweet 16 appearances; I wonder who's going to take over GW - former player or assistant or someone from outside the family.

Wow
Checked in to see what was going on and I get a dose of interesting news. Didn't see the Joe McKeown thing coming.
Opens the door for McGuff to get coach of the year.

Cardoza to Temple
Well, so much for insults to the A-10 with McKeown and Staley's departures. Tonya Cardoza takes over at Temple. Fourteen years at UCONN, what a great hire. GW stays in house with Bozeman - good choice there as well as he was most likely the main recruiter and knows the players best. Nice that some credible coaches took the A-10 jobs.
