That sounds kind of familiar. He was still facing the allegations of having multiple transcripts altered (among other things) at the time Xavier hired him, and while he was cleared later, at the time it just seemed STUPID to me to bring someone in who was in that situation. I didn't think he was going to be cleared and that it would create a major problem for Xavier, but admittedly he was.

Stuff that people went to jail for...is now permissible.
People have been probably paying kids to play under the table for years. Now it's on the table.

That's a whole different ballgame than a university sponsoring a full, fake academic program to keep kids in school; UNC.
And nothing at all happened to them.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

No one went to jail for paying kids. That never was against the law. Every school in America would have been locked up had that been the case. They went to jail for defrauding them, wire fraud, and accepting bribes. That will still land you in jail. As dirty and as notorious as many at the time believed World Wide Wes to be and what little regard he had for NCAA rules, he never actually committed any crimes. Other agencies and runners were absolutely committing crimes, though, and coaches were involved. See, it's not that things weren't ever bad before the portal and NIL. It was just a different kind of bad.

And while the NCAA did nothing to UNC, SACSCOC sure as hell did! They actually got smacked down pretty hard with sanctions and multiple people on the academic side lost their entire careers.

We arrived early for the Senior Day activities. As you can imagine, all the senior members of cheerleading and dance squads along with senior pep band members were introduced before the players. In every case, when the individual and parents were announced, the announcer included major and minor courses of study. We had 3-4 seniors with minors in "Peace and Justice" whatever the "f that is.

But when it came time for the team, not one mention was made about graduation status or course of study. It was information that I noticed by its absence.

Not a shock for sure and I cheer for the team anyway. But another indication these kids are basketball first. That's what matters to them and it is too bad because a Jesuit education, "peace and Justice" courses aside, is to be valued.

Thinking back, Miller was the easy hire for Christopher to make. I'm sorry but this person is a mealy mouth wimp who i don't believe has a backbone or capable of making a real hard decision. Nothing in his past makes me believe otherwise. He basically hitched his wagon to the Sean Miller train and prayed each year Miller wouldn't cut the line. It worked for 3 years, but now it's done and now he is being exposed as the indecisive nonleader that he actually is.

Ok, I’ve never mentioned this before.

This guy was the HC at the high school where all 4 of my kids attended. This was a 3 year saga which just ended about 2 months ago. This guy worked on Millers staff as a grad assistant or team manager or something like that.

For his real job he ran a sporting good company where you get the personalized gear to teams. Logos and such. Decent sized company. On the website, it had links to “testimonials” one of which was……Sean Millers dad. He prominently promoted the business.

    Read with caution.

(Google “Jake Jackson Sumner” if the link doesn’t work).

I don't believe Sean came to X to just leave again, but the landscape changed too dramatically. We have a lot of people on here with their heads in the sand about the state of college basketball.

Don’t give Sean a cop out. Portal and NIL were already in full swing when he took the job.

I believe he only picked us over SC because he believed we were the faster track to the next big gig.

You're entitled to your opinion. Sean got to a S16. It might be last one you ever see.
