I believe X is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of a 10 point dog. If it's anywhere close to that, I think it's a really good betting opportunity. Not saying X will win, but I think they matchup pretty well with Marquette and it should be a tight game just like the last one where X didn't even have Free.

Really depends on how well we shoot the three, I suspect.

Yeah good point. X is highly reliant on shooting the 3 ball well in order to win. The first half of Villanova, they looked like the worst team on the planet because wide open shots weren't falling, and then looked like a tournament team in the 2nd half when X shot their average.
X's 3pt average is 39% on the season. Marquette is 32%
In the previous game, X shot 31% and Marquette almost 37% and X was a blown call away from probably going to OT. If X shoots their average from 3, I think they win, but that's usually tougher to do on the road.

For those that are seriously thinking about NCAA Tournament possibilities....tomorrow affords 1 of 2 chances, in just a weeks time, to resume a signature win.
Without one....only MSG hardware can get X past the velvet rope.President of the Eddie Johnson Fan Club

It’s easy to look at the last game and say we have a shot. We only lost by 2, shot poor, and Freemantle was out.
Think some forget we were getting blown out. We had a huge run. They have a defender that can shut down opposing players best player. Someone needs to step up over conwell. McKnight or Maddox? It’s gonna be a tough one.
Just double checked. We were down 15 with 10 min left. IMO, we will need to shoot lights out- similar to UConn. Each guard will need to be able to knock down from 3. And Hunter will have to attack the boards and keep buying into his role.Last edited by Xavier; 01-17-2025 at 11:55 AM.
